Frankly this has always struck me as a bit of a cop-out. I can see its value in reassuring bereaved parents, but it's not what I'd call philosophically sound. When's the magic cut-off age? And (as has already been pointed out) how does it square with being opposed to abortion? (Or for that matter infanticide, though for the record I'm *not* comparing it with abortion.)
