If he's omnieverything, then why does he need to send his son to die? Why can't he just forgive everyone? Is he just obsessed with blood and sacrifice?

You guys can't even make up a good imaginary friend. You're worshipping a psychopathic petty tyrant. Doesn't say much for your character.

"Is he just obsessed with blood and sacrifice?"
Blood for the blood god, etc.

Free gift? Better not be another freaking candle.

"He sent his one and only, perfect, son to die a humiliating death,"
yeah, it was so hummiliating that he came back to life and floated up to a golden mansion in paradise.
Not like all of those cry babies who died from being tortured for their country or little children being raped and murdered..no..Jesus went through the worst thing ever.

If Jesus paid for our sins already-- then why do we still have to repent? I mean, if the debt has been paid and the car is ours, what sense would it make to keep making payments if it's already paid for?
Your logic sucks, dude.

Put this god on display so we can fix our flawed picture.
Oh, you can't find him? Perhaps because he isn't real?

"So, to that I say; Yes, God is good... Trust him and take him at his word"
His word says he is and does evil:
Isaiah 45:7 "I make peace and create evil. I the Lord do all these things."
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Lamentations 3:38 "Out of the mouth of the most High proceedeth not evil and good?"
Jeremiah 18:11 "Thus saith the Lord; Behold, I frame evil against you, and devise a device against you."
Ezekiel 20:25,26 "I gave them also statutes that were not good, and judgments whereby they should not live. And I polluted them in their own gifts...

I would have said inferiority complex, but it seems to pale in comparison to this.
An interesting point, though: The reason for god to punish humanity was the consumption of the fruit of knowledge, and that it gave self-awareness to humans.
Now, this is interesting. A fruit that makes humans something more than animals, and god forbids humans from touching it. Gives you a whole new perspective for the asshole's motivations.

"We have one choice. Trust him and take him at his word, or not."
And clearly you've chosen not to, being that you hang around on a site devoted to an unbiblical heresy.

You are a vile and contemptuous thing because you waste the mind that you have on filth and vacuous nonsense. There is no god and the bible contains errors and is inconsistent. Therefore, you are a gullible simpleton.

Your "God" is nothing but a projection of your own misery. YOU hate 99% of the human race, YOU take joy in making others suffer. YOU'RE like a 5 year old who has a tantrum at his birthday party and has to go to his room and be miserable because he can't admit he was wrong. YOU should seek professional help and YOU should not be permitted access to children or anyone who you might unknowingly damage. YOU are a waste, the world needs what YOU have to offer but YOU would rather submerge YOURself in despair and self-hate.

We are the ones who wronged him.
Because our 400-times-great-grandparents ate a piece of His magic fruit? That would pretty much make Him a cruel taskmaster who takes pleasure in crushing the defenseless humans for enjoyment in most peoples' books.
He sent his one and only, perfect, son to die a humiliating death, which pays the price for all the wrongs we ever did against Him.
How does killing His son pay Him for our wrongs? If I beat the shit out of you with a baseball bat (hmmm, tempting ...), would you forgive me if I also killed your only son?
He only asks one thing in return in order to receive his mercy and free gift, and that is to take him at his word.
Why? If you throw crumbs out for the birds, do you demand that they "take you at your word" before they can eat? Why would a supreme creator of the universe with infinite power care whether some little beings "take him at his word", unless He were some kind of egomaniac nut-job? His "free gift" sounds more like one of those Florida real estate scams where they offer you a free three night vacation in return for listening to their swamp-condo sales pitch.

We are the ones who wronged him. Any rights we had when he created us are forfeit. If he chose to send everyone to hell, then we would only be getting what we rightfully deserved.
So does this God guy hang around in a Barcolounger all day and yell, "Get back in the kitchen and make me a sandwich. Don't make me hit you." 'Cause that's kind of what He sounds like there.

So, tell me again, how is it a sacrifice if the kid doesn't stay dead?
Your cross is a solar calendar. You are a cult of perverted Sun Worshipers. The two thieves hung beside the Sun of God are the equinoxes. One steals hours from the night and gives them to the day, the other steals hours from the day and gives them to the night. Jesus is Ra and Satan is Set. It's all a repackaged scam. That should be obvious to all but the hypnotized and the fools. Which are you?

Your question at the end begs the answer that God is a cruel taskmaster who takes pleasure in crushing the defenseless humans for enjoyment.
You say this as you guys allege he creates illness within the body to test faith, and an epidemic to punish a small subset of people. And that he flooded the world because we weren't behaving as he desired. And then there's Job, if I recall correctly, that he dicked with on a wager with the devil.
...and so it probably does to everyone who has a flawed picture of what God's true nature is like.
No, the Bible paints a rather clear picture of him. malicious, capricious, fickle...
We are the ones who wronged him. Any rights we had when he created us are forfeit.
Rights are not forfeit at a whim. The ones who wronged God are long dead...but he chooses to take it out on humanity as a whole. Not to mention, why did he leave that tree there in the first place?
If he chose to send everyone to hell, then we would only be getting what we rightfully deserved.
For what? Fucking...like he designed us to do? Living? Or just being a descendant from Adam and Eve? The concept of sin is ambiguous at best...just the way the church likes it. Make it feel like you can do nothing right by God, and suddenly, you have scads of people looking to be saved by the Church's magical mojo.
However, that's not what he did. He sent his one and only, perfect, son to die a humiliating death, which pays the price for all the wrongs we ever did against Him.
Unless you don't believe in him. Or are gay. Or believe in a different God. Kind of a pissant savior, no?
He only asks one thing in return in order to receive his mercy and free gift, and that is to take him at his word.
Which gets you in the church doors. And then you're subjected to a gauntlet of litmus tests. "You vote Democrat? You're not a true believer! You're gay? Unbeliever! What? Keeping a ten in your wallet? Heathen!"
So, to that I say; Yes, God is good. He is so good, as a matter of fact, that it is beyond our wildest imagination.
Eternal torment is not good. Period. There is no justification whatsoever. None. Even for a person who obliterated all life on the planet, he should have the opportunity to redeem himself. Otherwise, it's simply sadism.
The sum of his goodness is way beyond any human's comprehension, which is why people pose questions like this to begin with.
I repeat the Battered Wife syndrome sentiment here. "He hits me because I did something wrong. I shouldn't have done that...he really loves me, and is a good person...it's my fault."
We have one choice. Trust him and take him at his word, or not. Our choice has zero bearing on whether or not he actually exists, what his character is like, and what rules he has laid down for his creations.
So he's a dick, he's an unapologetic dick, and the only way to get into his clubhouse is to dance like good little puppets.

So eternal burning and infinite torture is the appropriate punishment for us because our ancestors (Adam and Eve) who we had no control over did something so miniscule like eating an apple when God told them not to?
Wow. To say God's is injust would be a huge understatement.

I could never worship such a hateful being.
