Quote# 60299

The "peace" sign is from witchcraft, It comes from a ritual they do when someone from a "church" upbringing wants to join a coven. The witches get antsy and a little uneasy when someone that wasn't raised in witchcraft wants to join, so they take a cross (usually made out of clay) and make the initiate turn it upside down and break the sides down, to signify the rejection of Christianity. This gives the coven "peace" that the person is 100% into it. That's why the symbol is also referred to as a "broken cross' by witches. So remember this the next time your kid tries to tell you it's just a cool hippie symbol.

It's the combination of N and D in semaphore, from Nuclear Disarmament.

I read the whole thread hoping one of the members would have some sense and post the real meaning...

unfortunately, all i found was this:

"The peace symbol is equal to the NeroCross. Nero persecuted Christians. He designed an upside down cross in the form of a "V" and crucified Peter on it, head-down. This is according to Nestorius the Syrian, Patriarch of Constantinopel in 428-431 BC. In his works he describes the persecution of Christians by Nero. Since that time the Nero Cross received the name "Sign of the Broken Christian," or "of the Broken Jew," with reference to Peter. Three years after Peter's death the Roman legions marched into Jerusalem, and they had on their banners the Nero Cross as their insignia. This is the symbol of hatred against the Bible and Christianity through the ages."

Even Silver Ravenwolf wouldn't agree with this, and she both despises Christians and has a unique ability to say the dumbest shit about her own religion.

Things like this make me wonder if these people had been brought up reading the Necronomicon instead of the Bible if they would be sacrificing to the Old Gods.

Rapture Ready is a repository of every televangelist lie ever written or spoken. P. T. Barnum was right, there is one born every minute (or born again in case of raptards).

@aaa: Yes, and they all believe each other, and childishly defend beliefs they haven't researched at all, or are completely illogical.

But they're adults. With power, and money. It's disturbing, and there's no excuse for this sort of stupidity in modern society.

Yeah and if you play Stairway to Heaven backwards you can hear Robert Plant moaning "my sweet Satan" too. And covens keep teenaged girls as breeders and sacrifice the babies to teh debbil. And then they go to your kid's daycare and make him play Naked Moviestar Games.

Seriously, guys, I know everything from the 80s is coming back in, but this is just retarded.

Why the fuck does every single fundy seem to believe that every symbol known to man somehow comes from biblical times or somehow originates back it. The only exception to this rule is the Caution! Slippery when wet. Sign which of course can be traced back to the days of ancient Sparta.

@Arthar,

And the mysterious 'trespassers will be prosecuted' sign which was a sign created by Arab pagans at Makkah to ward off Muhammad, as you can see, it's effectiveness remains minimal.
