Quote# 60977

Final judgment by God and assigning people to Hell is not an act of hate, but love. I do not believe in a God of hate. When God ordered the Israelis to smash the heads of babies on the rocks and kill everyone in the Old Testament, I consider those acts of love, not hate.

God acts out love and just because his actions do not fit into my world view or align up to my sense of justice, I will continue to trust in the justice of God than any person.

Is it sad that the love I, an atheist, feel for humanity exceeds that of God? Yes. Yes it is.

Never thought I'd see the words "smashing heads of babies on rocks" and "act of love" in the same sentence...

'When God ordered the Israelis to smash the heads of babies on the rocks and kill everyone in the Old Testament, I consider those acts of love, not hate.'

You are a sick fuck. You need serious de-programming from your fundy hate cult.

Wow. How devoid of basic humanity can you get?

Not that this twonk is setting a precedent here. William Lane Craig pushes the same argument that genocide is perfectly legitimate if his magic man orders it, and what's more, that being exterminated in the name of his magic man is, wait for it, good for the victims.

Needless to say, it doesn't take much imagining to work out the reason for such vile apologetics - namely providing in advance a "justification" for dealing with whoever gets in the way of the fundies by whatever means are to hand. By erecting this apologetic, Craig is, in effect, handing out free tickets to every loon and psychopath telling them that it's OK to murder provided that his magic man backs them up, and this Tim twonk presumably laps this up because, like a lot of fundies, he's pulling his pudding at the prospect of being given a licence to go out there and do this for real. This is the sort of dialectical process that has been used by very nasty ideologies in the past to provide a faux "justification" for all manner of atrocities, and those of us with functioning brain cells have learned this lesson. Are we going to wake up to what's going on here, namely that the fundies are setting themselves up to be the ones to succeed where past despots have failed?

This is chilling in the extreme. A classic case of the aetiology associated with total surrender of one's will and one's reason to a doctrine. No wonder Storm Jameson warned against this process in her preface to The Diary of Anne Frank.

This guy is serously scary! How can it be an act of love to smash a baby's skull against a rock? That baby did no ask to be born, nor has it had the time to do anything bad yet. Can we smash your head against a rock, since you find it so lovely?

I prefer to use my own judgement and common sense, than trust a misogynistic warmongering figment of some goat herder's imagination, thank you.

Can women who have abortions say "God told me to get rid of it" and also claim it is an act of love?

Assuming this isnt a Poe (probably is, but by no means definitely is), this person probably opposes partial birth abortions - or indeed, any abortions!

Tim's god sounds like any one of a hundred abusive parents and partners. No wait, it's not the same. The victims of abusers have a legitimate fear for their safety and even their lives. Tim is the victim of nothing more than a scary fantasy.
