Well, if you didn't tell them they're not Christians that would be a good start.
Asked a Catholic friend once to tell me what it is they believe saves them. Her answer? The same as the one you'd give me for that question. They're Christians too, even if their practice of the religion is different [may I point out the dozens upon dozens of other Christian denominations that practice differently from one another, even if they claim to be part of the same subtype (e.g. baptist)].

These people must literally be incapable of objectivity. They can't even imagine what it must be like to be a different "kind" of person. If you can't see that thinking that people are wrong in having a different belief, despite believing strongly in it, suggests the possibility that you might yourself be wrong, then I'm sorry you're dumb.
And how come we always hear Bill Donahue complaining about atheists making fun of Catholicism, when protestants keep calling them heathens, not Christians, a cult etc etc. All you get when people make fun of you is people laughing at you, which I would prefer to having people think I am in league with the devil.
I guess he knows he can get everyone on his side if he complains about an irreverent atheist who thinks that the religion is stupid, but the people are just people.
