Quote# 61572

I want Christians to be added to the list of groups federally protected from hate crimes. But that will never happen. The homosexuals will be allowed to publicly bash us all they want while we have to keep our mouths shut. It's amazing...when a homosexual speaks out against us, it's called an opinion. If we speak out against their lifestyle, it's called "hate speech".

"I want Christians to be added to the list of groups federally protected from hate crimes."

Persecution complex at its' finest.

Isn't the whole point of hate crime legislation to prevent crime based on what religion or skin color or sexuality you are?

So Christians are already protected from hate crimes.

When Christians make up less than ten percent of the population, I'll consider your proposal to protect Christians from hate crimes.

Until then, STFU.

You deserve every bit of it.

The purpose of hate crime legislation is to protect the few against violence from the many. The moment you prove Christians are a minority, you can apply for hate crime legislation.

"while we have to keep our mouths shut."

Pic or it didnt happen.

I was thinking, people who actually TRY to sound this stupid can't even get to this point.

I thought crimes motivated by a hatred of the victim's religion were hate crimes no matter what the religion happens to be.

And anyway, to paraphrase Brian Mulroney, you had a choice. You could have said, "I'm not going to be a Christian." Find me a gay person who can honestly say, "I'm not going to be gay," and then wasn't, and we'll talk.

Until then, STFU.

You people deserve everything you get.

Yeah, people of ANY religion already have that protection... So you fail.

When you can show me a case of christian beaten to death by a group of homosexuals, out of the blue and without provocation, then we'll talk.

wackadoodle

Every goddamn religion is protected by hate crime laws you ignorant fuck.
PS: Name one way your different from the church of the aryan nations preaching about how blacks shouldnt be allowed to marry whites. "They're not really christians" is not an answer.

"The homosexuals will be allowed to publicly bash us all they want while we have to keep our mouths shut."

So far I've seen no evidence that any of you have kept your mouth shut. One can dream though...

Isn't this the same shit you said about being white and persecuted 50 years ago?

If the new legislation passes then religion will be protected all the time instead of just when engaging in a federally protected activity like demonstrating as you are now you twit.

Hate crime laws in the United States (also known as bias crimes) protect against crimes motivated by enmity or animus against a protected class. Although state and federal laws vary, typical protected characteristics are race, religion, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, and disability.

The current statutes permit federal prosecution of hate crimes committed on the basis of a person's race, color, religion, or nation origin when engaging in a federally protected activity, 18 U.S.C. § 245, (see 1969 law, infra). Legislation is currently pending that would add gender, sexual orientation, gender-identity, and disability to this list, as well as remove the prerequisite that the victim be engaging in a federally protected activity.

It already protects against hate crimes motivated by gender, ethnicity, and religion you dumbass.

4/20/2009 10:54:00 PM

Thejebusfire

You are.
That's why people don't harm street preachers.

And saying that gays should turn straight or rot in hell is pretty damn hateful. If I were to go around yelling that Christians should have their heads cut off you would consider it a hate crime too.
Love the double standard.

Can we just refer this idiot to the quote below this one ?

Your whole faith is based off of violence and bigotry. If we were to eliminate hate speech and hate crime the bible would be banned. And thats not a bad thing either.

4/20/2009 11:31:28 PM

aaa

Yep, a classic case of persecution complex.

4/20/2009 11:48:12 PM

Do you even understand the concept of bashing? Gay bashing is when they're physically beaten, not your lot speaking ill of them. There are no laws against voicing opinions.

So what you want to say is,
that homosexuals try to prevent, that christians are allowed to get married or hold christian service
that homosexuals repeatedly visit christian services with shields like "Christzianity is an abomination",
and that often christians get beaten up by gay/lesbian bullies at school?

4/21/2009 12:06:37 AM

Nowonmai

And how about triple the penalty for when Christians commit hate crimes? Yanno, like the next time a fundie beats a gay man to death because it's against your rules to be gay? Or a group of gold ol boy christians raping a lesbian because she is a lesbian and if they show her what a 'real man' is like they can change her?

4/21/2009 12:09:20 AM

You're already protected.
But being protected doesn't mean your allowed to persecute other people.
