The Bible also claims that since Eve took the bait (fruit of the tree of life) that man will also rule over her till the end of time on this planet. Exactly what we still see today. Man ruling over woman was part of the curse bestowed upon women in the garden. I like how fundamentalists like to leave out details about the man's curse, though. It's interesting how men don't have to labor in the fields anymore, but women still have to be subservient.
