Last time I checked Bush was a Christian.
Cheney, obviously, worships and/or is Satan.

So the former U.S president, George W Bush, was not a Christian, when he described Operation Enduring Freedom a "Crusade"...?

Poe. You can't tell me she's not aware that it's been god-fearing Christians who advocate waterboarding.

You can never know if they're a Poe. I've spoken to actual Christians who've said stuff like this.

"Really?
What about our war mongers and torture supporters?"
Bush and Cheney are atheists?
"They can't honestly be christians, christians love peace and wouldn't hurt a fly."
Crusades, Spanish Inquisition, Salem Witch Trials, so on and so forth.
Oh, I forgot. They're not True Christians™

Nope, supporters of war and torture are Christians. Always have been.

I "hate" to break it to you, Lauren, but those "war mongers" and "torture supporters" are composed almost entirely of Christian right-wingers. Maybe do a little background checking before you spout off ignorance, hm?

What about our war mongers and torture supporters?
They can't honestly be christians, christians love peace and wouldn't hurt a fly.
I hate to break it to you. Well, that's not true, I'm glad to point this out to you. Every single one of the war mongers and torturers claims to be a Christian.

Not a Poe, I don't think. It might be sarcasm, but it is also possible that she was raised in a church that actually taught that whole peace & love thing that Jesus was such a big supporter of. It definitely skates on the edge of the No True Scotsman fallacy, but on the other hand, the behaviour of the warmongers, torturers, crusaders, etc, really doesn't seem to have a lot to do with the message that the guy they claim to follow preached.
So I get where she may be coming from. On the other hand, it's Sister Lauren...she is a little off the wall. (Alternet articles can be interesting...Alternet comments are oh, so much better!)

Oh, how adorable! She's trying to put the arch-conservative Christians in the atheist camp! If only it were so easy to be completely ignorant of the purported religious preferences of that merry lot though.
