Except we've observed that many animals -- even some invertebrates, like octopi -- do have the ability to think, reason, and learn. Dolphins have the ability to learn simple sign language, as do many apes. While most species of parrot can only repeat sounds without actually comprehending the concept of language, a few varieties, such as the African Grey Parrot, CAN actually develop a simple understanding of the concept of language, REAL language. Furthermore, we've observed cases in which animals deliberately choose same-sex sexual interaction over heterosexual sexual interaction.
What is this "better than"? We are merely different from other animals; by what standard are you measuring "better"? We have better cognitive ability and we're better at setting up social structures and so on and so forth, but those are just a handful of criteria.

Well, it's not a lie, we ARE animals. In case you hadn't noticed 1) our bodies work like those of other animals, 2) we have the same instincts as other animals, 3) we need the same things as other animals.

You'd like to think that, wouldn't you? There are LOTS of ways animals indicate to each other what sex they are. Yes, some homosexual behavior is undoubtedly a confused young animal that hasn't mated before (the same ones that will try to mate from several wrong directions before the female can get them in the right position), but that's not anywhere near every case. Besides that, we have a ton of evidence that many animals don't just live by instinct, and you fail to realize just how much humans DO live by instincts rather than reasoning.
