God created the sun, the stars, the heavens and the earth, and then made Adam and Eve. The Bible never says anything about dinosaurs. You can't say there were dinosaurs when you never saw them. Someone actually saw Adam and Eve. No one ever saw a Tyrannosaurus rex.

There is more to evidence than just eye-witness accounts, dimbulb.

Who? Tell us who saw Adam & Eve and where their account of that encounter can be found.

True. At least you admit that dinosaurs and humans didn't occupy the earth at the same time, but, other than that, the fact that no one saw a living T-Rex is of no importance.

Have you ever seen gravity? No, but you know there is gravity because of other types of evidence. Good, solid, not eye-witness evidence.

So you say, but I could ask any number of people and get just as many different answers, and every single one of them will have the same amount of proof as yours... none.

You can't say there were dinosaurs when you never saw them.

I'll use the same argument you do. No one saw "god" create the sun, stars, heavens, earth, or Adam & Eve, therefore they are not real and it never happend.

Something need not be seen to be proven. The very fact that there are dinosaur fossils is proof alone of there existance.

Someone actually saw Adam and Eve.

Really? Who? Where is their eye witness account and how can you prove that it is in fact genuine?

Not alive, but there are plenty of fossils you can see. What are you trying to say anyway? That if no one ever saw a live dinosaur then they didn't exist? What are fossils then? Are they there so "god" can fuck with our heads? You claim that dinosaur couldn't have existed because no one ever saw a live one, and then in the very next sentence you claim the this "god" no one has ever seen created everything even though there was no one to see him do it. What you are saying is that you are only willing to except evidence that agrees with you preconcieved conclusions, and all evidence that disagrees with your conclusion must therefore be discarded, but that's simply not how evidence works.

There's a fundamental, but hard to describe, aspect of the fundie creationist mindset illustrated here - the idea that The Word is the ultimate authority. We have vastly more evidence for dinosaurs than we do for, say, Jesus or most of the other figures or events in the Bible - but the evidence is in the form of mute, fossilized bones that have to be (often tentatively) interpreted and painstakingly pieced together.

To the fundies, the written word of someone who supposedly witnessed those figures and events is much more compelling, partly because it's comparatively straightforward and understandable - it doesn't *seem* to require the layers of interpretation that a fossil does. "See, it's RIGHT HERE," they'll bluster, "You don't have to guess what it might mean, or say maybe this or maybe that... it's WRITTEN DOWN, plain as day." In their minds, that means the Bible wins.

They look at it as if they're the people with the instruction manual, and the scientists and secularists are the ones wasting time and effort trying to figure out how to run the car without it by trial and error, stubbornly ignoring the fact that someone is standing right there offering them the manual.

Historians know to within a few weeks the date of the burial of King Tutankamun. The exact date of the sea battle between the Romans and Carthaginians off Sicily is known. Likewise the dates of Marathon, Thermopylae, Salamis and other ancient battles over 2200 years ago are known and the names of several people who were involved, not just the kings anmd generals. They know when Themistocles of Athens was exiled and what became of him. They even know about Pericles' girlfriend.

Yet apart from the Bible, there is absolutely no evidence for the existence of Biblical figures like Moses or Jesus. We have a fair idea when Jesus lived but the Gospels are wrong about the exact date of the census that preceeded the birth. So it is not known to within several years when he lived.

Moses cannot be identified with any known figure mentioned in ancient history independent of the Bible. Even Israeli archeologists argue about the time he was alive, some say it was as late as 2700 years ago, others several hundred years before that. There is just no evidence despite 150 years or more of pretty thorough searching over a fairly small area of the world between Egypt and Canaan. There appears to be no trace of the migration of a group of thousands of people from Egypt to Canaan over 40 years.

You accept, apparently without question miracle filled improbable stories of a migration that cannot be dated to within hundreds of years and which has left no trace but reject the idea that some animals once lived which were both large and small, and have left remains in dozens of countries around the world.

Okay, since you're a sports guy I'll explain this is a way you can understand. Let's say a pitcher pitches the ball and the batter hits it out of the park. Now, after the game, you find a baseball-sized hole in your windshield and a baseball in your front seat. Now, is it safe to conclude that the baseball hit your car or you going to sit there bewildered because you didn't personally see what happened to your car? Now to apply that to dinosaurs. See, nobody ever saw a live T-Rex, but when they died they left us their bones and just like the baseball in the front seat and the hole in your windshield are evidence the baseball going through it after a home run, the bones are evidence of the existence of T-Rex.
