Quote# 67234

As a Christian, I believe it is a sin to go to the movie theater. I've never been and I never will go. We are to be in the world, but not part of it. To go to the movie theater is a bad testimony. Not all movies are bad, but the majority are. Just think, would Jesus go to a movie theater? No! And neither should Christians. If a good, clean movie does come out, buy it or rent it on DVD. It will come out very quickly after it's run in the theater.

At this point I'm convinced that you're actually trying to avoid all of the fun in life.

there is literally nothing I've seen from this group that didn't make me facepalm. I have a hand shaped face dent to prove it

So....you really think Jesus would see a distinction between you going to see a movie in a theater and watching the same movie at home on DVD? Your double digit IQ is showing.

Davester

Yes I'm sure Jesus would be posting on facebook too, because thats in the world, not part of it or whatever the hell you're talking about. Fucktard

Are you talking about the same Jesus who broke bread with harlots and sinners?

No, of course not. This is Right-Wing Republican Jesus [TM], who lynches gays, brings his gun collection with him everywhere, and thinks that helping the poor hinders the All Holy Free Market.

Well thank God you aren't Jesus Christ nor are you His official spokesperson.

Also, quit making up "evils" for you to easily conquer, and go after the real evils in the world that anyone can relate to.

As for the not being a part of the world, I believe it was to mean to not be so materialistic to a point that if Jesus Christ were to come back tommorow and tell you to come with him, you would go with Him without asking, "Well what about my (choice prized possesions)?".

Of course Jesus would go to the cinema, as long as there was a movie he liked. Unlike you nuts, he was a pretty nice guy really.

I'd say this is kind of sad, except it means Joy(less) isn't sitting around spreading her fundie germs at a theater near you. So good for you, Joy(less). Stay at home. Far away from me.

would Jesus go see the Passion of the Christ in theaters?
did you?

You're joking? Right?

Joy,

People fornicate right in the theaters sometimes. Just sayin'...

Jesus wouldn't go to a movie theater, any more than He would provide wine at a wedding or let a woman with a reputation rub expensive ointment on him.

Isn't church like a movie? Tight aisles, black ladies yelling, big-headed actors on stage, and ten dollars coming out of your pocket and into the pocket of some Jew you will never see.

11/3/2009 2:32:14 PM

would Jesus go to a movie theater?

Um, no but that's only because they didn't have movie theaters back in the day.

Just think, would Jesus go to a movie theater? No!

Jesus was a man who hung out with drunks, theives, hookers, fisthermen(they were like the ditch diggers of their time), the homeless, etc. He might have gone to a movie theater.

If a good, clean movie does come out, buy it or rent it on DVD.

Whats the difference?

It will come out very quickly after it's run in the theater.

It takes months for a movie to come out on DVD.

Yeah Jesus would go to the movies, but he'd say that he didn't want any snacks, and then eat half of Peter's popcorn before the previews were over; and then he'd take three cell phone calls before loudly telling Thomas that he'd already seen the movie and the son was the killer, ruining it for everyone; Jesus was a dick like that.

Okay...So what counts as a "good, clean" movie by the way? I mean Passion of the Christ surely can't since it's basically blood porn.

With the price of tickets and popcorn these days, it's more painful than sinful.

As a Christian, I believe it is a sin to go to the movie theater.

Translation: "As a Christian, I believe it is a sin to have fun."

Doubting Thomas

I bet you weren't saying this when Passion of the Christ came out.

And what's wrong with having fun watching a movie? Why would God put us on this earth and not let us enjoy it?
