Quote# 7269

Yesterday I saw the UFOs on the TV news. The mexican government officially acknowledge their existence. Today I read on the newspaper that a locust [Cicada?] plague of biblical dimensions (billions of them) are going to come over Washington, DC in a few days. Well, for me, these are the birth pangs speeding up. Our rapture is coming soon, folks. Aleluia!!! Gloria a Deus!!

That's right, billions of cicadas. Just like every, oh, 17 years?

Cicadas, while horribly annoying, are not grasshoppers.

Well, its been 5 years. Whats this about the rapture being soon. I really feel sorry for these people, they spend their whole lives waiting for something that will never happen.

You're Mexican? "Gloria a Deus" is Portuguese. Maybe you're Brazilian and go to one of the fundie store-front churches in my neighborhood?

Gloria is a noun, a or ad is superfluous since you'll need to use the singular dative of Deus anyway. The correct latin term for Glory to God would be Gloria Deo. Please get something right, even if 7 years late. You're in good company, though. People have been saying 'soon,,, soon" for almost 2000 years, despite the fact that the return of Jesus was supposed to be within the lifetimes of the apostles. Gee whizz, even Methuselah only lived 900 years or so,,, I guess that makes it 1000 years overdue at best!
