There's a HUGE difference between domination play and rape but the biggest part of that difference is CONSENT. From what I've seen from the quotes on this website, for some reason people have a problem understanding this simple concept.

No, you evil little parasite, rape is not a gift of any sort. And if people are into domination and submission there's always the consensual S&M or even consensual rape play (as in role-playing a rape), but actual rape is never an option because it (by definition) is non-consensual.

@Jenneifer: I'm sure you'd agree that, when it comes to rape fetishes, the people involved should have some kind of conversation along the lines of "so I have a kink for rape, can we explore this together?" and come up with a safeword etc.

At that point, the people have both given CONSENT (and continue to give it by not using the safeword). Therefore no one is actually getting raped. It is consensual roleplay, in which both participants know that the other is enjoying it and is not going to be psychologically damaged and traumatised afterwards.

I don't think most of the people commenting here would have any sort of problem with that. but that isn't what e_i-2 is talking about. He is talking about actual rape.

On the subject of which: sadly this sort of attitude is a lot more prevalent than you'd think...

Oh my God. Are you serious? Like, actually? No, it is never the person's fault, by definition! The only time they are "asking for it" is if they are LITERALLY asking for it, and in that case it's not rape anyway. The fact that it's against the victim's will is part of the definition of the word, therefore it is logically impossible for it to be the victim's fault!

I realize that it's unwise for someone to dress very provocatively, alone, in a dangerous part of town, but that still doesn't make it the victim's fault when they're raped. That's like saying it's "my fault" my car was stolen because I left the keys in the ignition. Obviously it's really stupid to do that, and it would have been less likely to be stolen if I hadn't done it, but the thief is still the one responsible for stealing it; if people didn't steal cars, it wouldn't fucking matter if I left my keys in the car or not. (I know I'm wording this like it actually happened, but it didn't. XD)

Ultimate control? You mean for the rapist, right? Cuz that's pretty damn accurate. I mean, I don't get how a rape victim can feel like they're being the dominant one, unless it's roleplay and they're "asking for it" or forcing their partner to "rape" them; but in either of those scenarios it's not actually rape, because it occurs with the consent of both parties.

Basically, fuck you. It'll be your fault even if someone else does it, so you might as well do it yourself at least then you'll be consenting.

I've said this before and I'll say it again : like many LS regulars, e_i-2 is waaaaaaaay beyond the territory of mere misogyny. We're dealing with people who do not consider women as fellow human beings. They do not accept the fact that women can legitimately have other goals in their lives than being a man's bitch. For that matter, they also reject men who are not obsessed by sex and do not want to make a woman into his bitch as repressed and deluded. Theirs is the One True Way, because anyone who disagree is wrong and a hypocrite, because the One True Way says so, and so on.

What we see is the "us versus them" philosophy at its most ridiculous extreme, where the "us" is assumed to be uniform and all indentical to "me", and the "them" is denied any dignity, any importance, any value beyond what it could - and should - bring to the "us". Essentialization ("you're a man, you're like me") and dehumanization ("you're a woman, you don't matter"), going hand in hand. Those guys are mentally challenged to the concept of diversity.

1. You usually "let it happen" so that further damage (death because you struggle, for example,) is less likely to occur, you dumbass.

2. BDSM, or the desire to be dominated, is WAY different than being raped. (It's consensual, for one thing)

I get what you mean. I, personally, can't help wishing bad things upon really bad people. My mom's not even religious, but she says, "There's a special place in hell for people who abuse animals", and she's explicitly stated that she tells herself that because it's the only thing that makes her feel better. I think that's human nature, we want poetic justice. I'm not saying it's right. But on the other hand, we're not encouraging the authorities to make sure it happens. We're just expressing our supreme disgust in a way that makes us feel better.

I wouldn't literally wish rape on anybody. I might say what some people here have said, just because picturing them get a taste of their own medicine is emotionally gratifying. (I also have a dim hope that THEY'LL realize what THEY'RE saying, and get their act together.) But when I take away all that Schadenfreude, and just picture it for what it is...of course I don't want that. I'd like to think no one else here wants that either.

On the other hand, I don't know how sympathetic I could be for a vicious rapist who got raped in prison. That happened on Criminal Minds. Some rapist that one of the female agents put away got raped in prison, and tracked her down and tried to do her harm because he thought she had orchestrated it, because of something she'd said to him when he was convicted. I can sympathize with any inability, real or perceived, to communicate effectively with the opposite sex. I can communicate with boys, but at age 19 I've only ever had one boyfriend in my life and he turned out to be gay. I'm a virgin and to be honest I sometimes wonder if I'll end up as a 40-year-old virgin too. Sometimes I wonder how much of a mutant I must be, too. But I don't act bitter towards boys for it. I love boys. They're cool. It's not like I can't talk to them, I talk to them all the time. They just are never attracted to me. Being "loveshy" doesn't give you the right to take it out on the opposite sex. I'm not saying you do. But you said yourself that you're bitter. And it doesn't give people like e_i-2 the right to advocate rape. We're not bashing this guy for being loveshy, we're bashing him for being a rape apologist.

And citation needed about an actual part of your brain being "missing". I highly doubt that. Firstly, there isn't a specific region in the brain that corresponds to "talking to women". If you had actual brain damage it would likely affect more than just your ability to talk to women. I doubt that it's "physically impossible" for you to talk to women. Psychologically I don't doubt that it's impossible, and I know there's a very fine line between "physically" impossible and "psychologically" impossible, such as in cases of mutism. But I doubt that your problem is wholly or even partially physical. I'm not saying it isn't, I'm just saying that you need to back that up.

If a person desires to be truly dominated, he or she isn't really raped when he/she and his/her partner enact a raping scene. But that involves having a safety word, and in reality, the submissive person is in control.
It's kind of like wall-climbing with safety net; it gives a taste of danger, but it isn't really dangerous.

As long as you only guess that they want to, you are completely to blame if they don't want to.
If she really is asking for it, you'd know, as you would have agreed on a safety word.
If you haven't agreed on anything, the default safety word is something like No, Stop, Don't, Please or Help. That is the key for you to stop whatever it is you're doing, apologize and leave.

You seem to want to be raped, judging by your last sentence.

Most people find it hard to do these things. The more we like a person, the harder it becomes, as you want too much, try too hard.
I liked a guy once in the local Red Cross association. When we went on a date, it all went downhill, the situation was so "artificial", neither of us could act natural.

For many people it doesn't just click during a date. It can take years of being friends with someone, and slowly it grows into something more than just friendship.

Why not just interact with people of both genders in a non-dating environment. When the pressure of being attractive here and now is gone, it's easier to be yourself. At least you can see that all women don't like the same thing. Some of us like geeky guys with no muscles and a fixation on Dr Who. For example.

Posts like this make me angry, seemingly simply a way in the "man"'s mind to justify the act; after all, if she's also complicit, then it's not rape.

Let me explain to you, Mr. e_i-2, the holes in your argument.
1. If a woman desired to be dominated, would she not want it as anyone wants anything, on their own terms? Like engaging in any kind of sexual BDSM activity which they like and can control? The whole, even perceived, connection of rape and love is gone, if it ever existed.
2. A person must be held accountable for their own actions; if victims are held responsible for the acts of their tormentors, then the tormentors,and any who agree with them, cease to be civilised beings, for they have forsaken their self-control. 'Asking for it' is a coward's response.
3. I genuinely doubt any victim 'let it happen', but it is usually difficult to run away under threat of death or disfigurement.
Morally, according to me, any creature who believes that forcing sex on another person is justifiable under any circumstance, has lost their right to be called civilised.

As far as being bitter, how is associating with and defending bitter people accomplishing anything aside from making your bitterness worse?
