Quote# 76004

People hate Christians. The mood of today is to do anything you want. "Self." They hate anyone who tells them no. It is a generation of spoiled children who want only to amuse themselves, and they don't want anyone stopping them. They scream "Toleration," yet they cannot tolerate Christianity which refuses to give them the green light on all manner of sin.

During the Tribulation, throngs of people will cheer loudly when Christians are tortured, burned, beheaded, thrown to lions, and more. "How's it feel," the crowds will yell, celebrating with evil deeds.

Those who are left behind after the Rapture are going to be hunted like dogs and cut down in the streets and paraded like slaves down streets, where they are murdered in front of cheering crowds.

Or you can accept Jesus and admit you are a sinner, and ask him to forgive you.

"Those who are left behind after the Rapture are going to be hunted like dogs and cut down in the streets and paraded like slaves down streets, where they are murdered in front of cheering crowds. "

But why would that matter to you? I thought that no True Christians (tm) would be left behind, so you'd enjoy watching the heretics getting hunted down.

"They hate anyone who tells them no"

No, I hate anyone who tells me no for no other reason than 'it's in my book'

Go away

Just trying to follow the non-logic of this rapture story:

How can it be that people would be tortured for being christian AFTER the rapture? Is the rapture not supposed to take away all christians?

I guess thinking too much about these idiocies would reveal the brain rot that's going on in these people's heads.

Wozza

God you people are stupid.

If the Rapture happens then quite obviously we'll all become christian. For anybody to think that such obvious proof of the existence of God would not result in the mass conversion of the remaining population of at least the western world to active christianity, is just retarded.

So, to summarise:
1) the Rapture is not going to happen, because your religion is so many fairytales; BUT

2) If the rapture does occour, the tribulation is not going to happen, because the Rapture will be clear and obvious proof of God's existence and we'll all convert.

9/13/2010 2:32:29 AM

Wait. If your garbage is right, you'll not give a damn because those left behind are not true Christians. Another contradiction that you don't bother to explain.

Dare I mention once again that failure to want to live by your rules or refusing to follow your faith is not intolerance. It is not intolerant to expect you to treat people who disagree with you civilly and show them respect as fellow humans.

WE all tolerate Christianity just fine. It is only when you try to impose your rules and dogma upon us that we resist. That is not intolerance. That is freedom, and that is what separates the US from nations like Iran.

What does Toleration mean?

And enough of this Rapture crap. It is not going to happen. Not in 2010, or 2012, or in any other year.

Wozza's basically got it right here. If all the Christians in the world suddenly vanished overnight, I would personally be willing to view the whole religion thing more seriously.

Doesn't mean I'll instantly convert, though, especially not if this fundie-god turns out to be the real deal. Something like that doesn't deserve to be worshiped, and throwing those of us who feel that way into hell only reinforces the point.

9/13/2010 3:31:04 AM

Isn't there something in scripture about building a tower on a foundation of sand? I'm no expert on the bible but it looks to me that the entire Rapture cult is built by piling more and more crap on top of existing crap. Mullen's post shows that very well.

As many folks here have already noticed, this guy's fantasy is actually incompatible with the mythology he is proclaiming as God's absolute truth. But that doesn't matter, as long as he gets to feel like a holy martyr, and gets to depict all those who dare to disagree with him as bloodthirsty fiends.

I would, but I don't want to be tortured, burned, beheaded, thrown to the lions, and more. Is it too late to take flying lessons?

They hate anyone who tells them no. It is a generation of spoiled children who want only to amuse themselves, and they don't want anyone stopping them.

Well, that’s quite an accusation. How do you measure such a thing anyway? Since you accuse them of selfishness, I suggest using volunteering—spending time working for another without any sort of compensation—as a guideline.

Looking at the national profile trends by generation on Volunteering in America, it looks like the current generation of teenagers is no more selfish than the national rate. And they actually slightly outperform the oldest generation(s) of 65 and older. Baby Boomers actually have the highest volunteer rate. Meanwhile the Millenial generation has the lowest rate.

Yeah, it looks like the last two generations have taken a dip in volunteering, but it appears the current batch of kids is starting to pick up the slack.

People hate Christians.

No, just pushy Christians who want to control everyone's personal lives and cry cry persecution when they can't.

The mood of today is to do anything you want.

Freedom's a bitch when you want to control everyone's lives.

They hate anyone who tells them no.

Just as I thought, you want to be able to control people's lives.

It is a generation of spoiled children who want only to amuse themselves, and they don't want anyone stopping them.

And let me guess: you think you're the only adult whose duty it is to tell everyone what they should be doing. Fuck off.

They scream "Toleration," yet they cannot tolerate Christianity which refuses to give them the green light on all manner of sin.

I can tolerate Christianity, just not the fundie variety that wants to impose their warped morality by law.

During the Tribulation, throngs of people will cheer loudly when Christians are tortured, burned, beheaded, thrown to lions, and more. "How's it feel," the crowds will yell, celebrating with evil deeds.

You know, people only say "How's it feel" when you've done the same to them. So if Christians are planning to do all of those things to people then they can't expect sympathy when people return the favor. And really the only way your fantasy would ever happen is if you did it first.

Those who are left behind after the Rapture are going to be hunted like dogs and cut down in the streets and paraded like slaves down streets, where they are murdered in front of cheering crowds.

But if they're left behind then they're not "True Christians" and according to your faith they deserve death, so what's the problem?

Or you can accept Jesus and admit you are a sinner, and ask him to forgive you.

Why would I ask a dead guy to forgive me for something I never did to him?

So you're saying that people who want tolerance hate the intolerant?! That sounds about right. People should have the freedom to do what they want. If I want to be a heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual, polysexual, asexual, or any other thing, that is nobody's business.

9/13/2010 6:52:31 AM

I'll take my chances.

And yeah I hate you. I wonder why.

No, we hate people who tells us "no" based on thousands-year-old superstitious nonsense. In other words, for no good reason. And we really, really get irate when elected officials write such superstition into law.

Oh and there will be no rapture. Look it up in that bible you claim to read.

So, assuming I'm going to be left behind, if I accept Jesus and admit I'm a sinner (although I haven't done anything wrong), and ask Jesus to forgive me (for what? I've no idea?) then I won't be hunted like dogs and cut down in the street and paraded like a slave down a
street.

WOTA load of bollocks.
