[Cindy Sheehan arrested during anti-war protest]
Wonderful, she'll be forced to shut her trap for awhile. The only way it could have been better is if she had been captured by Al Quaida and a video posted on the internet.

Nutjob or not, she's entitled to voice her opinion of the war, especially since she had a huge stake in it. It may make you feel uncomfortable, but don't you think free speech is vital in the US?
Professional military men and women, including myself, are, as a group, the most anti-war people around. We simply recognize that there are unpleasant things in this world, and sometimes those things may need to be dealt with harshly.
Given the choice, I would LOVE to see the need for war in general removed. It ain't happening.
This war in particular ... it has its bad points and its good points. I'm not a big fan of the leadership (or their motivations) that led us into it, but the effects of it will be good, in the long run.
Whether or not he had WMD's, Hussein needed to go.
And, of course I am not saying that Sheehan shouldn't have the chance to have her say. I'm just sick of listening to her, and I wish she could have her say in a dignified manner, instead of being a whiny little bitch.
Re #2398: Of course I think she should have the right to say it. I think her arguments (which have included referring to the war as a Zionist conspiracy - I only wish I were kidding about that) are insane to the point that she damages her own position by making them, and that it would be better if she shut up - but I don't think I have the right to force her to. (I also don't have to listen, though - and I've heard enough to know listening further is a waste of time.)
I'd need to know more details about the protest in general before I could say whether she should have been arrested or not - particularly in DC, it does make sense to require a permit for big organized rallies - but I think she does need to, as Kathy says, "shut her trap for awhile" (not by force, but because it's not doing her or anyone else any favors).
Cindy Sheehan has provided a rallying point for a myriad of anti-war groups, so I think what she has been saying is a good thing for this country. So what if she's off the deep end on some of her points? It's not like she's running for political office.
We need more people from every type of community to voice their misgivings with the way Bush & Co. have handled this war.
Crosis, please show me where Cindy referred to the "Zionist conspiracy". Saying that Israel benefits from this war more that the US, does not a conspiracy make.
IRT #2427:
It's a little indirect ... what she said whas this, in an email that was released:
"Am I emotional? Yes, my first born was murdered. Am I angry? Yes, he was killed for lies and for a PNAC Neo-Con agenda to benefit Israel. My son joined the Army to protect America, not Israel. Am I stupid? No, I know full-well that my son, my family, this nation, and this world were betrayed by a George Bush who was influenced by the neo-con PNAC agenda after 9/11. We were told that we were attacked on 9/11 because the terrorists hate our freedoms and democracy...not for the real reason, becuase the Arab-Muslims who attacked us hate our middle-eastern foreign policy. That hasn't changed since America invaded and occupied Iraq...in fact it has gotten worse. "

You sorta have to know what PNAC is, and how / why it's a buzzword. Look it up, you'll find plenty out there about it.
Confused?
