You tell that bitch. I wish she read this website. And I'm sorry for the pain you've had to go through your whole life. I know "sorry" will never make up for it, but I truly am.

@ shykid,
I'm a gay man, pushing 70 - two more years to go. I can affirm that it DOES get better. and I am happy that you have finally seen through the curtain of bigotry and hate that people like Linda Harvey push. She and her ilk have blood on their hands - the blood of souls who were unable to withstand their ceaseless assault on gay people. The are, in a word, killers. They kill with their hate, which they dress up in religion.
Good luck to you. Gather all your confidence and strength to be able to snap your fingers at their ignorance, and get on with your like. May it be a long one; may you have great enjoyment; may you find love, as I have done. It does exist in the gay world, although that must be anathema to Linda and her sort.
@ Linda,
Yes you are a bully and you are guilty of hate and have the blood of your brother Abel on your hands, however much you may try to deny it. Homosexuality is as normal for a homosexual person as heterosexuality is normal for a heterosexual. There is no choice, there is no illness, there is no cure - except perhaps for you, should you find the moral courage to step outside your evil bigotry and hatred.

The worst thing about Christian bullies is they don't realize they're bullies which is a big reason homosexuals end up committing suicide because they live in a world where the bullies are the status quo.

Oh don't give up, don't kill yourself. You have your whole life ahead of you.
...but yeah, your feelings are wrong, kind of making you an abomination. You're a filthy sinner worthy of death whom god wants to rain burning sulfur on.

Speaking as an ex-homophobe, saying nothing when someone is being bullied is just as bad, if not worse, than joining the bullying. It's silent approval and it makes victims feel that nobody is on their side. Even saying something like, "I love gay people, but their lifestyle is sick/evil/wrong" can make gay people feel lower than pond scum.

These fuckers won't be happy until they cruelly drive every homosexually identified young person to suicide. And then use their graves as a toilet.
Was that a bit much for me to say? Yes, but I don't care. Anyone who objects to stopping bullying is a monster, in my book.

That's what we call "a healthy 'fuck you!' attitude." It's seriously saved my life more than once, both before and after I came out.

[Encourage kids, say, you know if you’re having trouble, you’re getting bullied, you feel despaired, don’t give up... But no they tag on to it approval of homosexuality and the implication that anybody who objects is just like those bullies out there and they’re leading you or others into suicide.]
So, we shouldn't bully, unless the kid happens to be gay. Then they're horrible, nasty, abominations that are going to burn in hell forever.

@whoanelly, Xotan, Professor M:
Thanks, guys. I really mean that. I'm very grateful I've found supportive people like you guys now.
I've been in full-on "fuck you" mode ever since I've been out. It's an awesome thing. I'm not going back to caring what they think or entertaining their bigotry.

Sorry Linda, but right now, not even this kind of bitchery can defeat the warm fuzzies in my heart because NEW YORK JUST LEGALIZED SAME-SEX MARRIAGE.

It's telling that you don't get the point of the campaign. As one of the pushers of homophobia and someone who sounds like she would encourage more attacks, whether verbal or physical, against gays by calling them evil and dark, you are one sad sorry excuse for a human being.
Oh, and I looked up Peter LaBarbera. He's the founder of Americans for Truth. I do so love it when the worse purveyors of lies and distortions give themselves name like that. The man is a lying-sack-of-shit.

Despite my happiness over the legalization of gay marriage in NY, I couldn't help but keep thinking about this quote. Because I wish It Gets Better had been around a few years ago. My older brother was gay, and he committed suicide. And Linda, it was because of people like you.
He'd faced people bullying him because he was "weird" since elementary school. It continued in high school. He officially came out to my parents before he went off to college. They took it fairly well, but when they told the rest of my family (as was my brother's wish), they did not. I won't get too into the details of what happened-my family was less than supportive, vocally so, when he came home for Thanksgiving. We comforted him, he assured us he was "okay". Then my dad had to go to work and my mom and I went shopping and when we came home, he was gone.I can only guess why he did what he did, but later on his roommate told us that he'd been facing discrimination at the Catholic college he went to (he had a strong faith), even mockery. I can only guess that he was tired of the pain he'd been dealing with since he was six or seven years old, and that being rejected by one of his own family was the last straw. Even now the pain is raw. My brother was my best friend. I wish that It Gets Better was around when he was feeling so alone and devastated. Linda: it's people like you that made him feel worthless. It's people like you who I hate. How could you possibly suggest that these people deserve to be bullied? We've seen a rash of gay suicides in the past few years. Being mocked for something you can't control takes a definite emotional and mental toll. And the people you suggest are less than nothing, they're someone's children, they're someone's siblings. And usually their families love them and would miss them.

I’ll say that again, It Gets Better. It’s a video campaign organized by a radical and vicious, vicious, vulgar, profane, anti-Christian
So? Where do you get this idiotic assumption that someone must pander to christians in order to do any good?
I can’t say enough things along that line about him. Dan Savage.
So the fact that you don't like someone invalidates them from doing good?
This It Gets Better campaign is a video campaign that a lot of the leftist politicians including our president have jumped on board, so have some celebrities. It’s supposed to encourage kids, that’s great
Yes, it is.
Encourage kids, say, you know if you’re having trouble, you’re getting bullied, you feel despaired, don’t give up. That would be a worthy goal if they stop there. But no they tag on to it approval of homosexuality and the implication that anybody who objects is just like those bullies out there and they’re leading you or others into suicide.
And that is wrong why? Do people who are homosexual do not derserve to know that life does in fact get better? Gay or straight, people are people and they all deserve the same message of hope, regardless of your opinion of their sexual orientation.

So what's Linda saying? "Bullying is bad, unless you're bullying homos; in that case, they get what's coming to 'em"?

Thank you, and go to hell. (don't worry, you will :) )

Just from that alone, I like the guy already! If I meet him, I'll buy him a pint! Dan Savage, eh? The way you paint him, Linda, he seems like an even more left-wing version of the pulp novel hero Doc Savage: who fights for the underdog*. Even better!
At least he's not Michael 'Savage' Weiner.
*- And we Brits are known to support the 'underdog' (especially against overwhelming, oppressive odds; Shykid, I'm looking at you. b^_^d ). Thus my pro-LGBT stance.
