I'll admit that I have no sympathy for idiots dying during a do it yourself abortion, I think they should win a Darwin award

Well, he's got one single point: There are clinics for a reason... doing a difficult medical operation yourself without expert knowledge is Darwin Award material, and even if you do have that experience its still not recommended.
Now, if those *censored* idiots would stop bombing those clinics, harassing the people who want to go there, etc., the chance somebody doing something like that would be much smaller.
That is, if he refers to people who do really do an abortion all on their own, Eris may know how (I don't wanna know, propably...).
If he means chemical abortion (where, AFAIK, I just read about this, the woman can go home during after being adminstered the chemicals), well... the risk of dying because of that is _much_ lower than that of dying by childbirth. So they'd rather deserve an 1-in-200,000 award...
Regardless, for his "no sympathy" comment he deserves the fundie title...
Gloranor - some women can't get an abortion. Some places don't have clinics nearby, or have "protesters" who actively prevent you from entering. Furthermore, some women have psychotic relatives who won't let them get an abortion or "disgrace" the family by allowing anyone to know about a pregnancy. So, Darwin Awards thoroughly offensive in this case. Thoroughly.
I should have made it "without very important" reasons or something like that, sorry.
That being said, its still not the best thing to do (that would be to get the hell out of there and go somewhere where they have clinics, and tell such protestors to get stuffed... if necessary, useing the police to make a way through those *cesnored*).
"DO IT YOURSELF ABORTION" not a normal abortion which is a proper, sterilized medical procedure. This is NOT a fundie comment, rather someone saying that abortions should be done PROPERLY and not to take chances by doing something DANGEROUS.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
