Correction - he will not stand for "his" people worshiping idols, as I understand it. Nowhere does it say that there ARE no other gods, just that no others are worthy of being worshiped.
Assuming the bible isn't total shit and lies, that is.

Ryan, you said "God is a jealousy God." I think that you meant "jelous." You see, the word you want to use is one describing the noun (God), which makes the word you want to use "jelous" an adjective (which describes nouns) not a "jelousy" (a noun).
Yep, I'm reduced to giving simplified Kindergarten lessons on grammar. (And I;m not going into all the other spelling and grammar mistakes Ryan made because then I'd be here all day). I find genocide abhorrent. I find attempting to justify genocide abhorrent. I find the idea of worshipping a god that commits genocide abhorrent. What I find most revolting though, is that there are people like Ryan who don't think that this is abhorrent, and who need to have it explained to them why genocide is always wrong. It's just so obvious, so very basic, something that anyone with any sense of morality ought to know is wrong. . . I can't bring myself to try to explain to Ryan why it's wrong. The thought that he doesn't already understand it sickens me too much.

As a former Christian, and current Kemetic Pagan, I must say that killing innocent children,(ie: the first born of Egypt just because of the Pharaoh's hardened heart, which god hardened on purpose, and his continued enslavement of the Israelites,) is utterly and totally abhorrent, disgusting, and makes this deity completely and totally unworthy of worship, and if I EVER give up the Gods of the Nile, I will become a Theistic Satanist before I EVER even consider for a SECOND going back to Christianity.
By the way, I didn't capitalize "god" for a reason-- A deity that depraved doesn't deserve capitalization.
