Your interpretation might be different than mine. It has done nothing to change my opinion that it's all bullshit. That said, it's bullshit that's defended fiercely enough to get people killed, so in that respect it has a form of reality. If the paranormal/supernatural/superstition gives you the illusion of some kind of referential integrity, then I guess it's helpful and not completely manipulative. As far as I can tell, it's all imaginary. The big distinction is whether that imagination belongs to you, or someone else.

This is confirmed by Revelation as well, which talks about Satan as "the angel of the bottomless pit." It describes how, in the last days, God will open up the bottomless pit (desscribed as a literal chasm in the earth), and smoke will rise out so thick that it will blot out the sun. Demons will come out of this pit to torment those still on the earth's surface and the souls of the condemned will attempt a final rebellion against God before being wiped out by his wrath.

You may be shocked by this, but I don't believe you. Most other Christians don't believe that 'hell' is an actual physical place(they don't think heaven is in the sky and hell is in the earth literally).Intelligent people do not literally believe this either and don't think that hell exists at all.
