This latest attempt by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals to “overturn” a constitutional amendment must by law be ignored and the judges who issued the opinion should be removed from office.

The court’s opinion that male-female “marriage” is “unconstitutional” is absurd because it is contrary to God’s Law (God Almighty Himself has defined marriage to be between one man and one woman) which is the very basis of the Supreme Law of the Land of our nation, the U.S. Constitution! And any law (or court opinion) contrary to God’s Law is legally null and void. Plain and simple. No individual branch of government at any level of government possesses the authority to make right what God says is wrong. To quote Dr. Martin Luther King who quoted St. Thomas Aquinas: Any law contrary to God’s Law is no law at all!

Except the US Constitution (along with the BoR) does not even once mention God, Yahweh, Jehova or Jesus Christ. Yes, there is the "year of our Lord" in the date near the signatures, but that's just flowery language for the sake of eloquence.

The Declaration of Independence does mention "endowed by our Creator" but that document is not the basis for our law.

I agree. I just got a letter today from the Federal Marriage Bureau which says that my marriage to my wife is now null and void because two gay guys in another state want to get married.

Well, since the ruling NEVER SAID that marriage between a man and a woman is unconstitutional, we know you're lying for Jesus right off the bat. Furthermore, as much as your ilk is trying to make it so, Biblical law has NO bearing on the law of the United States. None whatsoever. The Constitution is the law of the land, and the Constitution specifically made the United States a secular country. It had better stay that way.

The court doesn't advance the opinion that male-female marriage is unconstitutional you lying ass. Only that the passing of Prop. 8 was unconstitutional because it was a majority denying rights to a minority for no good reason. Tyranny of the majority. What they're saying Gregg is that in this case, what you personally interpret as "God's Law" is not fair and it can be consigned to the trash heap along with laws against interracial marriage and appeals to authority. Read your Constitution.

(1) The US Constitution is indeed the "Supreme Law of the Land of our nation". It actually says so in Article VI. "Supreme" means "the highest there is". There's no "super-law" that overrides the Constitution. If God wants to override the Constitution, that's His lookout, not the court's.

(2) It is what it is. If we want "God's Law" written into it, it must be written down in the document itself. Only dictatorships have unwritten laws left up to the police and the courts to enforce as they like.

(3) What is "God's Law"? There are thousands of different opinions on the subject. Who says your opinion is the right one?

(4) If by "God's Law" you mean the Bible, then "God Almighty Himself" certainly has not "defined marriage to be between one man and one woman". Actually, there are a whole bunch of definitions, depending on which part you read.

(5) There's no indication that the framers of the Constitution ever intended "God's Law" to be the basis for the Constitution. The fact that the First Amendment forbids the government to stick its nose into religion, either for or against, and Article VI forbids religious tests for public office suggests that the opposite is true.

Yes, I believe Al Qaeda says something like the same thing. They probably have a different opinion about God's Law, though (see (3) above).
