Honestly, if you really DID start getting persecuted by gays (you're not, but I'm speaking hypothetically) I'd find it very difficult to sympathize. Yes, it'd be wrong for you to get bullied and I'd realize that but I'm not sure I could bring myself to actually care about your plight.

The point needs to be remembered: To the sharp-right, tolerance, inclusion, and diversity are typically self-contradictory, simply because "acceptable" is regarded as nothing but a perfect synonym of "normative". I guess they don't trust anyone who isn't a perfect mirror of them, because they can't perfectly predict them?

No one is "going after" Chick-fil-A (as far as I know). The CEO, Mr. Cathy exercised his rights to voice his bigoted opinions. We are simply exercising our rights by not giving our money to his company. If that's your idea of "going after" something, then your persecution complex is much larger than I had originally thought.

Yes, because we know people of faith have never boycotted any company that was pro-gay rights. We also know that the righteous Christian fundies have never attacked, killed, or called for violence and death against gay people. They have such great traditional moral values in their bible, like slavery, sexism, marriage between one man and several women, and killing anyone who doesn't believe in the same things you do.

I was wondering when Chick-Fil-A would get a mention here.
Dan Cathy has a right to his bigoted opinion, I also have a right to boycott his business and call him a bigot.
It, however, is not just his mere opinion, Chick-Fil-A has been known to donate to groups that are blatantly anti-Gay. Groups that want want to affect legislation to that end. And you know why they do it, because they think everyone has to be Christian heterosexuals just like them.
Now some fundies are getting a taste of what it is like to be a hated group.

Bryan, you work for the American Family Association, correct? Please tell me, how many boycotts have the AFA called for in the last 10 years? The AFA spent literally years urging its followers to boycott the Disney Corporation simply because it granted insurance benefits for the same-sex partners of its employees! How is this one bit different from people boycotting Chick-fil-A because of its financial support of political movements that seek to deny GLBT people their civil rights and legal protections?
Really, Bryan. please tell me the difference. Because I can't see any.
