Any changes to OUR banking industry to suit muslims is apt to backfire.

What changes would our banking industry supposedly NEED in order to accommodate Muslims? As far as I know, they can write checks, run businesses, and otherwise handle money just fine here.

Islam forbids lending money on interest (usury), as Christianity once did. "BloodoftheLamb" probably doesn't know this. "Islamic banking" deals mainly with an alternate form of financing which doesn't entail compound interest to turn a profit. If the banks were to offer an alternative form of loan, I don't see what the big deal is. It might even be more "Christian".

Far be it from me to defend "Islamic banking", but if banks want to accommodate Muslim customers who are queasy about interest, surely that's a business decision that's theirs to make?
Or is BloodoftheLamb afraid the evil libruls will ban interest to suit Muslims?
Of course, what they actually do is break a loan into two separate but allowed transactions: (1) the bank buys what you want a loan for (2) you buy from the bank in small installments, most often with a slight markup.
It's usually not a better deal; just a technical workaround.
Funny, I don't remember Jesus saying "blessed are the bankers."
Must have been right after Jesus told Ayn Rand "...and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of San Fransisco shall not prevail against it."
Well, I'm not sure what you're implying but I'm guessing it's another creeping Sharia Law scaretactic.
As to the U.S. banking system, you really can't imagine it becoming more corrupt, but then again, give them an inch,,,. If you Christian Conservatives would get the "Leave the businesses alone and they'll do the right thing" mantra out of your Dogma you could add to the calls to clean up the banks criminal activity. Instead you're the largest group of enablers with your fundamentalist churchs full-on support for dishonest business practices and "fewer Controls" on commerce.
Confused?
