The KKK were never really a hate group anyway.I've seen many whites being lynched by the Klan for committing a serious crime.Hell,i've even heard of stories where if a white guy was beating his wife,he could expect the Klan on his lawn in the early hours of the morning ready to beat the cr*p out of him.
They were really nothing more than a religious group who were the unofficial police force.I've also read that the police heavily relied upon the Klan to bring justice in society during the Klan's heyday.
Didn't blacks also go to the KKK to sort out their problems in their neighbourhood?

Pfft, I lol'ed.
As for the original post, 2nding the Citation Seriously Fucking Needed. Frighteningly worrying that this person's asking for confirmation on Hatefront, of all places.

If you are talking about the very very beginning, of the original Ku Klux Klan, then you might possibly have a point, though it would still be debatable. The organization was originally founded as a social club for Confederate veterans. However those Confederate veterans soon turned it into the hate group it is renowned for being in all incarnations of it thereafter, and that is where your argument falls apart.
Oh yes, yes, the Klan would lynch whites, assuming they were Catholic/Jewish/non-WASP, though blacks were the majority of those lynched.
The KKK wasn't a hate group at first, more like a secret club for bored Confederate veterans, but it very quickly turned into one. The rest here is just ignorant Klan apologetics.

Read: Racist police using the Klan to get rid of a few uppity negroes in town. Also, this guy here really showed that the average Klansman wasn't much more than a racist reactionary thug: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D._C._Stephenson
I somehow doubt that blacks wanted anything to do with the Klan besides keeping as far away from them as possible.
So you're good with vigilante justice carried out by a random mob.
Okay. Good to know.
But yes, they're still a hate group. One that's dying out, but still, a hate group.

Is it opposite day again?

Yes, and more recently Klan members have been part of the official police force.
