Well done Mr Lisle, you perfectly demonstrated a fallacy of composition.
Even if each and every individual component part of a human has no overriding meaning or purpose, that doesn't mean that the whole, the human itself, has no meaning or purpose.
Just because those chemicals individually can't feel happiness or fulfilment, doesn't mean that the human that they assemble can't either.
That, my friend, is a fallacy of composition.
Cars are merely a collection glass, steel, rubber and fabric. Those materials have no intrinsic purpose, therefore cars have no purpose.

Why is it so hard for idiots like this to google secular humanism?
He is half right, in that atheism generally says there is no TEH LAWD to give humans a design or purpose. This, of course, doesn't mean we cannot give a purpose to ourselves, nor does it make your homebrew purpose any lesser in meaning than the one supposedly given by TEH LAWD.
We know that atheists and fundies have different worldviews. For instance, atheists favour reality whereas fundies favour delusion.
Fundies, in general, are also partial to lying, quote mining, cherry picking, persecuting minorities, ignorance, misogyny and gullibility. Atheists, generally speaking, take the opposite tack.
Anyone ever realised that if there IS a God like this tit believes, there can be no fallacy because that God can go and change the way the universe works at any point...
So every time this twerp goes on about "logic" or "reason" he is stating that the God he believes in doesn't actually fucking exist!

Now now, the concept of Emergent Properties is a tough, counterintuitive thing for most folks to comprehend.
Easier just to say "soul," I guess.
Rather than refute this for the billionth time, let's just investigate the alleged "purpose of life" according to Christianity and the other Abrahamic faiths.
If something like a soul would actually exist, we would probably not only know about it by now, but the fundies would probably say something like, "meh, we are not just mere bags of chemicals and ectoplasm, there has to be some kind of a mystic double-soul as well!"
Ok, you're still making this stupid argument, let me put it differently:
I suspect that there is little chance of anybody assigning you a purpose, though, in fact I'd have more use for a rock than I would for ten of you.
We might not have an inherent purpose, but that does not mean that we cannot be helpfull, caring, intelligent or create or own purpose in live. It does not mean that we cannot live the best possible life, both for our own benefit, and that of others.

It makes us feel bad so we invent meaning and religion and art and science and all the rest of it, but this is all a distraction for our impending death. I never said religion didn't have a reason (who wants this to be the truth?). I guess it's not politically correct to say this?
