No nation can even approach being perfect, but the fact that we dumped slavery is a testament to spiritual growth... and it is too bad the indians chose witchcraft over Christianity or God would have seen to it that they were treated as equal citizens!

It's worrying that you had slavery in a first place.
and it is too bad the indians chose witchcraft over Christianity...
Yeah! How dare those dirty heathens not relinquish the beliefs they had for centuries in name of white men's god! How DARE they! That gave us the entire permission we needed to slaughter them! Don't forget that we're the religiously tolerant ones!
Dumped slavery? I guess we should have been reading the Bible since it contains instructions on purchasing, selling, and treatment of slaves. It tells us how to pass our slaves on to our children as an inheritance. It tells us that we can beat our slaves so severely that they end up in the hospital, just as long as they don't die within the first two days.
You're right, dumpling slavery was a sign of grown on the part of our country. A growth that is taking us away from the Bible and the ancient Middle Eastern mythology contained within it.
A large proportion of Native Americans had been converted to Christianity before they were slaughtered. Converting the "savages", often by violent means, was a very popular pastime between battles and massacres. The Spanish were particularly adept.
God STILL hasn't seen to it to treat them or many other different groups as equal citizens. African Americans are still EXTREMELY religious and yet God still allows them to be stopped and frisked, pulled over by cops, and jailed at a rate much higher than any other minority. Women are about as religious as men yet your God demands that they NOT be treated as equal citizens. Your God either doesn't care or doesn't exist.
There were masses of Native Americans converted in California by the priests in the missions & they were STILL treated as inferior. Oh wait, those were Catholic conversions so they don't count to fundies like you!
Get thee behind me dumbass.
It's the people who did it's fault, not God's! When you act like a jerk, it's your fault, not God's will! This is one of the things that drives me craziest about you people!
You do realize that the US dumped slavery (as a nation) after a CIVIL WAR centered around it, (and the side against slavery was the underdog against a defensive south- which mistakenly went on the offense), and after nearly every other recognized nation having already dumped slavery?
But you're not thinking deeply about this, so why am I? XD
"...God would have seen to it that they were treated as equal citizens"
"They were treated", passive voice. Nope. What you mean is "We would have treated them better". Your behavior is on you, and not the fault of your victims.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
