[Has evolutionary science been useful to the world?]
Chris, you’d be surprised. Evolutionists say that evolution undergirds all of biology, and yet no truly helpful discovery has come from evolution. It is true that many evolutionists have made amazing discoveries, but these are based on scientific observation of the way things are—how they originated is a different question. It seems to me that if evolution were really a theory of everything, as they claim, then it ought to be obvious; they shouldn’t have to rely on silly evolutionary stories to make us believe it. Face it, evolution is unbelievable because it is simply not true. Most people are not gullible enough to think that a frog change into a prince. Creation is a much better answer and we learn that when we go back to Genesis.

1: All scientific discoveries are based on observation of the way things are. However, they only really become important if predictions can be made based on these observations. Additionally, theories are formulated in a way that allows for them to be disproven, given sufficient evidence. Evolution meets these criteria.
2: Nobody who seriously does research related to or based on evolution will ever claim that it is a "theory of everything." Evolution only tries (and so far manages) to explain how species change over time, and nothing else.
3: Abiogenesis (the origin of life) is a different theory altogether. Not to mention the fact that, contrary to what some claim, there are theories other than goddidit.
4: Just because a theory is counter-intuitive, does not mean it is false at all. In the past, people believed that an object's mass would change its acceleration in freefall, since that seemed the most logical explanation at the time.
5: The nice thing about science is that it is true, whether you believe it or not.
6: Creation is not a better answer, since it completely fails to allow for any predictions whatsoever, nor can it be disproven. Finally, since on top of all that it isn't based on any thorough observation of reality, creation simply has no place in any scientific discussion.
OK then, please explain why some antibiotics were useful 50 years ago but don't work now?
I'm guessing the "doctor" here is probably doctor of theology.
*edit* After a google search, I see that his doctorate is in geology, which still doesn't give him any authority to speak about evolution. It would be like if a structural engineer ran around claiming that Einstein was wrong about his theory of relativity.
You do realize that, "That was science not evolution" is one of the stupidest thoughts ever put together, right?
"Most people are not gullible enough to think that a frog change into a prince. Creation is a much better answer and we learn that when we go back to Genesis."
Say that on national TV and we'll have the earthquake of the century from all the irony meters exploding.
Evolution is not about "how they originated", it's about the process for how they came to be what they are today.
Who the heck claims that ToE is a theory of everything?
Flue vaccines would be impossible without a basic understanding of the ToE. Flue vaccines saves thousands of life each year. How many lives have "Intelligent Designed" saved this year? I'd say it has caused quite a few deaths; deaths by choking on food, deaths from inflamed appendixes, among others.
Many people have kissed a prince (or princess), that then changed into a frog.
Not long to the day from eight years after a certain precedent-setting decision, Kitzmiller vs. Dover still hurts, doesn't it...?!
...but hey, you want your country to be Bio technologically inferior to China (Two words: Gene Therapy), you go right ahead, 'Doc'. Only, don't drag the rest of the non -fundie & forward-thinking USA with you.
Fixed: It seems to me that if creationism were really an explanation of everything, as they claim, then it ought to be obvious; they shouldn’t have to rely on silly creation stories to make us believe it. Face it, creationism is unbelievable because it is simply not true. Most people are not gullible enough to think that a man came from dirt. Evolution is a much better answer and we learn that when we go back to facts.
Of course this person would confuse an actual fairy tale about a frog prince with real life. They live in fantasy land.

"they shouldn’t have to rely on silly evolutionary stories to make us believe it"
Yeah, and a man putting every animal into a boat and riding out a worldwide flood isn't a silly story at all.
All of the vegetables, fruits and animals you eat on a regular basis were molded into what they are by careful selection of traits by humans. Broccoli, cauliflower and brussels sprouts all originated from the same ancestor plant.
Evolution works, or else none of the agriculture we enjoy today would have ever happened.
Wait, he's a doctor of GEOLOGY?! Literally the one field in all of science where evidence of a billions year creation cycle for the Earth looks back at you in everything you study. Do you think God just poofed those various strata into being? Did he layer them to fool you? What the hell man, did you just sleep through 85% of your schooling?
"they shouldn’t have to rely on silly evolutionary stories to make us believe it."
So, you can't tell the difference between rocks and fossils and a spoken narrative. Worst case of synesthesia ever, or just lying?
Tell me, doctor, how drunk or high are you? I mean, geology has millions of year old rocks. You should believe the age of the earth.
Unlike some of the posters here, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you are an old earth creationist until proven otherwise.
The thing I want to know is how you explain dog breeding and other artificial selection without also explaining natural selection?
It seems to me that if evolution were really a theory of everything, as they claim
No-one has ever claimed that so you're a fucking liar.
@Doubting Thomas: fundies tend to think that one scientist is as good as another. In their minds, there's no qualitative difference between a geologist, a paleontologist and a biologist--all three of them study science, ergo, all three of them are the same.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
