How does this apply to 9/11 or the July attacks in London? Or the beheading of a British soldier or any of the other atrocities that can be laid at the feet of islam?
Certainly, Allah is a god of psychiatric illnesses just like Bible God and, most likely, He's just as prone to violence. Abrahamic gods are ideal deities for man and chattel.

Last time I checked, the Bible is perfectly fine with multiple wives.
We've had a couple of cases in Sweden of strong women with depth to their personalities, who have been killed by their Muslim fathers or brothers for not being weak and shallow enough to comply with orders.
Uh, yeah, all those religions featured multiple wives because their rules were made up by MEN for whom women were legally chattel.
Of course it was "better"--for the men. It would have been far better for the women had they each been able to have dozens of handsome young men waiting on THEM.
Yep, because religious sanctioned polygamy always works out swell for women. They'd totally be on board and get an equal say in the matter and everything.

All other religions either place no limit, or specifically allow multiple wives.
Judaism no longer has polygamy; in most parts of the world, it died out about a thousand years ago.

Well, Buddhists and Hindus have polyandry.
To me, polygamy only makes sense if there's a very severe gender population disparity.
If a society was far more women than men - Polygyny.
If a society has far more men than women - Polyandry.
However, in a more gender-balanced society, Polyamory or Monogamy would make more sense.
DT's comment doesn't bother me but I'm a weird woman who subverts certain seemingly sexist things in my mind to something "woman-power" themed. My weird, neopagan mindset sees menses in a funny, "goddess-mystery/power source" way and if a male chauvinist schlub is rendered jello by some strong, fierce, shakti-powered PMS power-goddesses I say, more power to those gals (even if they are cranky & unpleasant).

Well, the con man who made up your religion and pretended to have new revelations from God changing existing marriage laws every time he got a hard-on for a new young woman also said it was okay to rape girls as young as 9, but we don't let you get away with that in the civilized world anymore, either (industrialized but still backward Muslim theocracies excepted).

The day someone like this bozo agrees that a woman can have as many husbands as she can support, I will begin to think seriously about multiple spouses. Until then, however, this will continue to be a pile of male "let's see how much we can get away with under the guise of religion" horse manure.

And having one is better than having none.
If the planet had far more women than men living on it then I could see the point of more than one wife. But the world is pretty much 50/50 male and female. So if a few men have many wives it means many men have no wives at all. A lot of single men with no chance of ever marrying and having a family of their own is not conducive to a normal society.
I also have objections to it on medical, specifically genetic grounds.
I also note the sexist nature of this kind of thing since nobody ever advocates women having multiple husbands.
