EVOLUTION IS NOT SCIENTIFIC. It is a theory! Notice the word THEORY... T-H-E-O-R-Y. Wiki it. It is an idea. One which breeds Atheism, is the tool of Satan and will bring about the destruction of man.

Wiki says : In science, a theory is a proposed description, explanation, or model of the manner of interaction of a set of natural phenomena, capable of predicting future occurrences or observations of the same kind, and capable of being tested through experiment or otherwise falsified through empirical observation. It follows from this that for scientists "theory" and "fact" do not necessarily stand in opposition. For example, it is a fact that an apple dropped on earth has been observed to fall towards the center of the planet, and the theory which explains why the apple behaves so is the current theory of gravitation.

Scientific theories are more than just an idea, Dumdum. They start out as an idea, but they are tested and supported by actual hard evidence. On the other hand, there's the Bible, which Fundies claim is the absolutely true word of God, with no evidence of God and mountains of evidence showing that it is not true. Curious "thinking."

Satan doesn't exist.
So far the ToE has helped bring major advancements in medicine and agriculture, hardly destroying humanity.
I had not heard of the atheist breeding program. Sign me up. That sounds like fun.
I'm with you there Amigone201. Sometimes I get so tired of the stupidity/racist/hatred of these postings (the Fundies, that is), that I have to take a break from it for a while, but after about a week something draws me back.
Well, at least ArgoFett has proven that he can spell, unlike many other fundies we've seen lately... I know it is a little thing, but FSTDT has taught me to lower my expectations.
Yes! The quote made it!
I made my position clear later in the topic:
ArgoFett: You say evolution is just a theory, but in scientific terms, a theory is "A set of statements or principles devised to explain a group of facts or phenomena, especially one that has been repeatedly tested or is widely accepted and can be used to make predictions about natural phenomena."(www.dictionary.com ) Meaning that it is widely accepted, as most evidence agrees with the theory.
The main website is actually a place where the administrator displays drawings, short stories, and even lego models. I was kind of surprised when this topic came up.
So is the germ theory. Stop with all your personal sanitation habits! Just never wash up. After all, it is only a theory that microbes can cause disease.
To be fair, bacteria themselves don't cause disease. They just release toxins that do.
I gave this gem a five not because it's something particular to a "fundie" but because it's a terribly common misconception. That friends, is what's truly tragic. This isn't some bizzare collection of 500 or 1000 English speakers off in the ether, it's a misunderstanding shared by a large percentage of Americans.
Wiki it yourself. Here, I'll do it for you:
Wikipedia
In scientific usage, a theory does not mean an unsubstantiated guess or hunch, as it often does in other contexts. A theory is a logically self-consistent model or framework for describing the behavior of a related set of natural or social phenomena. It originates from and/or is supported by experimental evidence (see scientific method). In this sense, a theory is a systematic and formalized expression of all previous observations that is predictive, logical and testable. In principle, scientific theories are always tentative, and subject to corrections or inclusion in a yet wider theory. Commonly, a large number of more specific hypotheses may be logically bound together by just one or two theories. As a general rule for use of the term, theories tend to deal with much broader sets of universals than do hypotheses, which ordinarily deal with much more specific sets of phenomena or specific applications of a theory.
Other theories out there:
Theory of Relativity
Electromagnetic Theory
Theory of Quantum Mechanics
Algorithm Theory
Now, I could be wrong about this, but I've been told those have all been developed by some pretty science-type guys.
very good a fundie got part of someithnig right .Give this guy /girl a pat on his/her back and put a big red star sticker on her his/her big stupid forehead ...
THEORY... T-H-E-O-R-Y.
theory 1 : the analysis of a set of facts in their relation to one another
the general or abstract principles of a body of fact, a science, or an art <music theory>
2a : a belief, policy, or procedure proposed or followed as the basis of action <her method is based on the theory that all children want to learn> b : an ideal or hypothetical set of facts, principles, or circumstances -- often used in the phrase in theory <in theory, we have always advocated freedom for all>
3 : a plausible or scientifically acceptable general principle or body of principles offered to explain phenomena <the wave theory of light>
4 a : a hypothesis assumed for the sake of argument or investigation b : an unproved assumption : CONJECTURE c : a body of theorems presenting a concise systematic view of a subject <theory of equations>
religion IS NOT SCIENTIFIC. It is a ! Notice the word superstition... S-U-P-E-R-S-T-I-T-I-O-N. Wiki it. It is an idea. One which breeds INSANITY ,it is the drug of masses and will bring about the destruction of man."
superstition
Main Entry: superstition
Pronunciation: "sü-p&r-'sti-sh&n
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English supersticion, from Anglo-French, from Latin superstition-, superstitio, from superstit-, superstes standing over (as witness or survivor), from super- + stare to stand -- more at STAND
1 a : a belief or practice resulting from ignorance, fear of the unknown, trust in magic or chance, or a false conception of causation b : an irrational abject attitude of mind toward the supernatural, nature, or God resulting from superstition
2 : a notion maintained despite evidence to the contrary
Here, Argo, I'll explain in simple words:
fact: Something seen. For example, you're a babbling idiot.
hypothesis: possible explanantion for a "fact". For example, hypothesis 1: you were dropped on your head as a baby; hypothesis 2: your father married his sister; hypothesis 3: you smoked too much weed.
hypothesis testing: Gather more facts. For example: Were you actually dropped? Yes. Is your mom also your aunt? Yes. Do you smoke a lot of weed? No.
theory: a proposed explanation that fits the facts - you're a babbling idiot because you were dropped on your head and your dad married his sister.
Simple, huh?
Man, what do you think science is made of? and there is evidence, by the way, only that you all dismiss it.
Clearly this ass does not know that a scientific theory is considerably more evolved (hah, hah) than saying "I have a theory that that milk over there is rotten." A scientific theory uses the scientific method, which stands up to scrutiny far better than any religious text.
"It is a theory! Notice the word THEORY... T-H-E-O-R-Y"
You keep using that word.
I do not think it means what you think it means.
Yes, evolution is an idea:
It is an idea that is heavily supported by observable facts.
It is an idea that has solid predictive value.
It is an idea that has been used to achieve great benefits for humanity in the fields of medicine and agriculture (among others).
Call it whatever you want, but there is no denying that evolution is one of the most powerful, credible and useful ideas that humanity has ever conceived.

"CREATION IS NOT SCIENTIFIC. It is a myth! Notice the word MYTH... M-Y-T-H"
One which breeds Stupidity, is the tool of con men and will bring about the destruction of America
A manipulation tool that is indeed exploited to destroy it today, something that is even more obvious in 2022...
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
