It couldn't possibly have anything to do with the intolerance and hatred spewed by "true believers" now could it? You can't really blame them for not wanting to be associated with jerkoffs like you, now can you? It has nothing to do with Satanism either. Satan is a myth. I'd say it's more to do with common sense.
Actually, I've always been gay, as far back as I remember. I was also a christian, until I met a few too many people like you.

Even if there was such a thing as a 'soul' I doubt that it would be corrupted by having sex with other consenting adults. I'd suggest, on the contrary, that actively denying one's true sexual orientation would be more harmful to a 'soul' than by accepting it.

No. Immorality would be a lack of morality. The idea that homosexuality is immoral, while a popular view, is nonsensical when you consider that the choice to engage in sex with a person of the same gender affects them and only them. It's completely illogical to force your particular ideals of morality on others when, clearly, it is none of yours (or anybody else's) business.

People who are gay contribute in all manner of ways to society; in addition to being law abiding and tax paying civil citizens, they do pretty much the same things as anyone else.

Is it any surprise that many homosexuals choose to reject organised religion when the vast majority of religious people in America seem to demonize and marginalize them purely for their sexual predilections? You can't exactly blame a gay person for opting out of a narrow world view that casts them as scum.

Here is where your argument really makes my head spin. You're suggesting a correlation between homosexuality and the worship of Satan, despite the fact that in prior sentences you were arguing that gays are atheists. Since atheism rules out any belief in the supernatural (including satan) your argument isn't just bigoted and hateful, it's also completely at odds with the basic precepts of atheism.

Fundamentalists are the most bitter, resentful, and hateful people I’ve ever encountered. They can't stand themselves, and try to project the blame onto other people, especially members of the gay community, Jews, any non-fundamentalist Christian, liberals, scientists, etc. They are so touchy about touching. It's quite something to see: adults babbling nonsense then claiming they are “speaking in tongues”, flailing about like imbeciles, apparently unconcerned about the spectacle they make of themselves. It’s embarrassing for the normal members of society, who don't say much, since the “fundies” will just launch into even more extreme histrionics and possibly hurt themselves or others. Who can put up with such nonsense? And conservatives think this behaviour is normal? It shows how selective they are when hurling their accusations of improper behaviour and interpretations of religious dogma. Etc. Etc. Etc.

Damian, dear son of the Devil according to a movie, think carefully. If being gay is a disease, can´t be corruption of the soul or lack of morality. You have to choose between one of the options. Second, there are many gays in the world and yes, some are atheist and many of them not particularly religious, know why?, because they have been rejected in religious grounds for no good reason. You can´t claim that "gays are bad because they´ve turned atheist" because it´s the other way round, they´ve turned atheist for the constant attack towards their persona on behalf of religious people. And satanism and being gay are not correlated because Atheism is not Satanism. I wonder if what happens is that you all fundies live in a world where atheist, liberal and Satanist(and occasionally muslim and Catholic) equals people who don´t share your mind.
im sure if christians were more accepting of gays, they wouldnt join us atheist, but im not complaining, more people who realise christianity for what it is
D'you know Jehane?, Jesus NEVER spoke about homosexuality. So don´t go saying that the Bible forbids homosexuality because it´s not true. Yes, OT but let me tell you something, do you know that it also forbids eating lobster?. I´ll tell you why. Because it´s a book designed for people living more than 5000 years ago so that the rules were adapted to the time and place. So, rules which for us are menial and ridiculous(working on Sabbath, eating lobster and so)for them were very important and rules which for us are utterly immoral(killing non virgin brides, selling girls into slavery)for them were usual.

Jesus was very clear that not one letter or penstroke of the Law would change, and that includes the Law against homosexual behaviour. there are numerous other examples where He condemns all such abominations. i recommend you not attempt to instruct me in what you yourself do not understand.

The only reason they ever have of keeping themselves in the closet is because their parents might throw them out of the house, or people close to them will disown them. Christian doctrine forbids homosexualism; it is an abomination. There are no 'gay' Christians they are arrogant, selfish, and spoiled, as has already been well established.

Jehane,You study your Bible. And know the context of the writers of Gospel and their audience. Basically, it depends on whether the author of the letters or accounts in the New Testament are focusing on Gentiles or Jews who follow Jesus.

however, of all sexual assaults on children, a third of them were committed by homosexuals. no adult sexual orientation; that is, they are not sexually attracted to adults of either sex, but are exclusively attracted to children. It's a completely separate sexual orientation distinct from either straight or gay. Boys tend to be victims because their parents tend not to watch them as carefully. It's a crime of opportunity.

I have an ex-boyfriend who is homosexual and a friend who is bisexual. Both of them are Christian and are in no fear of losing their faith.
