I don’t think the question is whether Jesus is violent or peaceful, or whether Allah is violent or peaceful. The question is whether Christians are commanded to be violent or not, and I think we all know the answer...
The Great Commandments are to love your neighbor as yourself and love the Lord with all our heart, mind, soul and strength. I wish there were more Christian extremists, who take the words of Jesus literally, and act them out on a daily basis.
However, no one hopes for more Muslim extremists. No one hopes for more Muslims to take the Koran literally.
Thanks,
Bill
p.s. Jesus has the right to be violent, because the universe is His posession, and He can do with it as He wishes, including killing people, and sending them to hell.

Oh noes, that whould mean they would fast during ramadan, go to a pilgrimage once in their lives, pray five times a day and giving money to the poor! that woul'd indeed be horrible!
if you get to cherry pick why not they?
So were all slaves of Jesus then, cause he "owns" us? Come on Bill, get your acronyms strait. P.S. is supposed to stand for post script , not post shit .

amazing how these people have all the ingredients to atheism in their faces and somehow manage to twist them to support their position...
the US is doomed as a world power if this attitude continues to pervade their society...
And do you remember that those extremists were the......Crusaders?. I don't know if Jesus was violent or not(maybe in the Temple, but was a minute matter compared with the exploits of the "chosen people" in the OT), but I think that establishing a blatant contradiction on a post...........doesn't help.
"The question is whether Christians are commanded to be violent or not, and I think we all
know the answer..."
Based on the behavior of christians, the answer is yes . . .
I would prefer to see fewer extremists of any sort.
Any belief system whose leaders or doctrines demand that you check your brain at the door and obey without question the orders you are given isn't the worth the paper its leaders used to print it up.
Actually I find the Christians who take the Bible literally a lot less harmful (and in some ways they're even admirable) than the ones who say they're taking it literally but have in fact never read it.
But the same goes for Muslims and the Qu'ran.
BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE!
seriously, Jesus does sound like Khorne these days its ridiculous xD
"Jesus has the right to be violent, because the universe is His posession, and He can do with it as He wishes, including killing people, and sending them to hell"
Does that mean a woman has a right to abort a fetus because the uterus is her possession?
Just asking.
"However, no one hopes for more Muslim extremists. No one hopes for more Muslims to take the Koran literally."
The problem is that they DON'T take it literally. That's how the whole "they're dishonoring Islam" thing came into effect actually.
" Jesus has the right to be violent, because the universe is His posession, and He can do with it as He wishes, including killing people, and sending them to hell."
Wow, BillPhillips. You have a real nack for making Jesus look like an absolute bastard, you know that, right?
Jesus is allowed to sin, is what you're saying...
So, then Jesus could have been a homosexual, right?
"The Great Commandments are to love your neighbor as yourself and love the Lord with all our heart, mind, soul and strength. I wish there were more Christian extremists, who take the words of Jesus literally, and act them out on a daily basis."
Followed by...

Hellooooo cognative dissonance.
"I wish there were more Christian Extemists, who take the word of Jesus literaly, and act them out on a daily basis."
If there were, they would walk around homeless, with no possessions, and give everything they didn't need for survival away to charity.

Abuse of power - a virtue to authoritarians.
The Muslims worship the same god as you do.
The Bible also demands for the believers to kill infidels.
Hubby and me own our house (with the bank). As it's our possession, can we do with it as we wish, including killing people inside it?
We do know the answer. Yes. The Bible calls to kill those who worship other gods, homosexuals, an entire village if there is only one unbeliever in said village etc. Also that last sentence makes me think this could be another Christian terrorist

Not like that violent child molester Muhammad. Pffft , he's no Teddy bear.
