Here is what I mean, There are more issues involved in Civil Unions than two gays having a ceremony. I think it's quite weird to have two dads and for the sake of children and Natural families maybe they are not a good idea.

Refering to the "atheist gestapo" and then going on to say you're gonna force people to your way of thinking and to do as you want through intimidation and threats of violence. Not to mention the fact that "queer-loving", "mix-race supporting" and "women-working" are some of the very things the Nazis were against.

PS I love the logic that people should be denied the right to have kids and kids should be denied the opertunity to have loving parents just because some people are assholes. Surely it would be far better and make much more sense to do soemthing about the assholes? It's like arguing that black couples in an almost-exclusively white town shouldn't be allowed to have a child because the kid might get made fun of or beaten up.

NEWSFLASH! If kids want to pick on a kid, they will find a reason. One Mommy, two mommies, one daddy two daddies, red hair, no hair, or just good old fashioned cooties. They will pick on the kid. Period. What matters is if the two "queers" (cheap fucking shot, BTW) can give the child a happy, well adjusted home. And judging by some of the horror stories I hear of foster parents, we do NOT have a difficult standard to live up to. So here's the deal. Either you guys, who seem so intent on over populating the earth, start taking IN some of these children, or start letting us ease the burden on the state.

I love the undercurrent of these ideals. We don't hate gays...we're just asking them to make a few little concessions for the greater good. You can't adopt, because kids will pick on your kids. You can't marry because it will open the floodgates for pedophiles, polygamists and all around bad people (even if most of these people could never shoehorn their way into the loosest definition of a healthy relationship.) And yet they wonder why we just can't act like normal people.

considering same-sex couples generally have to go through a whole lot more trouble to have children (adoption, IVF and Sperm donations or donor eggs) they have thought about it more, it is not an unplanned pregnancy/child and therefore they are more likely to have two loving parents. much better than a 'normal' couple who may not have planned the child and cant or wont provide the right care for it.
They're probably less likely to be seen as abnormal than a child of bible thumping parents who's forced to dress like they're auditioning for Little House on the Prairie, lost in a houseful of kids because their parents insist on overbreeding for Jesus, and completely cut off from all forms of pop culture.

Wrightbrigade shouldn't talk about things he knows nothing about. I know a gay couple who adopted two girls, and not only are those girls perfectly healthy, happy, and free of bullying, but the both of them love their daddies. And for any fundy moron who thinks that two gay parents will raise their children to be gay, there are many heterosexual couples that are scratching their heads wondering how it is that their son/daughter became a homosexual.
