You realize that every kind of pain is "punishment", don't you? Surely, you should refuse every form of pain medication, from aspirin to morphine, and, for extra measure, refuse all forms of medical treatment, from dentistry, to surgery, to antibiotics, since God will surely cure if you are meant to be cured, right?

Is it just me, or does the whole concept of extremely painful childbirth seem sort of barbaric when we have c-sections and whatnot? It's not like many places in the world carry out c-sections quite regularly (80% of births in Brazillian private hospitals are c-sections according to the Wiki). Can anyone fill me in?

Even if it wasn't punishment, common sense says squeezing a fucking human head out of your vagina is not going to be pleasant unless you are completely derived of feeling pain either way.
I'll keep saying this, as soon as men everywhere quit their jobs and go back to toiling in the fields with Bronze Age technology, male fundies can shut the heck up about childbirth being the result of Eve's "sin."
So God will never forgive us. The God you worship doesn't give a shit about any of us, and only lets us into heaven by looking through Jesus who has redeemed us.
It's pretty sickening that an all-powerful God couldn't let anyone who's imperfect (which has constantly been said to be impossible from the very beginning) anywhere near him, and therefore has to make them suffer just for existing.
Actually I think he's got a point. He's not saying all women should not use drugs, just the Christian ones. After all, the bible does state that labour pain is a punishment from God, and a woman can only be saved through child birth.
