I often debate with evolutionists because I believe that they are narrow mindedly and dogmatically accepting evolution without questioning it. I don't really care how God did what He did. I know He did it.

Eh? Why the hell are you debating evolutionsists if you don't care how God created life? You can accept evolution and say that God created the process if that's what floats your boat. Because contrary to what most rabid fundies say, evolution doesn't claim to know where or how or why life began. All it does is give us a model on how life changes/has changed over time.
"I often debate with evolutionists because I believe that they are narrow mindedly and dogmatically accepting evolution without questioning it."
"Narrow mindedly and dogmatically accepting evolution without questioning it" would be wrong. However, most of us who accept the ToE HAVE questioned it and have taken the time to learn about it.
"I don't really care how God did what He did. I know He did it."
That sounds very narrow-minded and dogmatic of you. You didn't dismiss the ToE through a process of education and reasoning did you?
I often debate with evolutionists because I believe that they are narrow mindedly and dogmatically accepting evolution without questioning it.
Now, by "evolutionist", do you mean "person who accepts evolution because the scientists who spend years of their lives studying the subject have long since come to a consensus that the theory of evolution is the best explanation we have for the diversity of life we observe, and the historical evidence we have about life", or "scientists who study evolution"? If the former, I suppose you could argue that they accept it without question, but that is because they have chosen not to spend the time learning the relevant material, and so they let those more qualified than themselves judge the evidence. Not really all that narrow-minded, nor particularly dogmatic. If you're talking about the scientists, you're just another ill-educated, arrogant ignoramus spouting opinions on subjects which are entirely out of your reach.
I don't really care how God did what He did. I know He did it.
No, you have faith (probably narrow-minded and dogmatic faith, at that) that he did whatever it was. And yet, in spite of your total lack of understanding of the subject, you'll still argue it? Idiot.
@"moog"
NASA will be wanting to use him for the reflector of the next space telescope.
Meh! he's far too twisted for that...
Oh the fucking irony.
Your proof=a book.
Our proof = huge amounts of evidence gathered and investigated which show common links between different species over time.
Notice how easy it is to classify ne species. Its because they fit into groups. Occasionally there may be one so different it needs its own group (eg, secutary birds, but they are still within another group in the group of birds and those with a spine).
Evolution is a theory, but all the evidence bar your book points that way. Even then, only the book taken lietarlly means no evolution.
For creation, what is 7 days to God? The events in genisis happen in the same order as the big bang theory. And humans becoming smart could be evolution in our brains.
If those are your tactics, that's not a debate. A debate is an intelligent intersection of viewpoints, wherein the goal is to understand or persuade. In your format, understanding and persuasion are impossible because you're determined not to listen to the other guy, even skeptically.
Actually, some very educated and intelligent non-Christian non-fundamentalist people have made very good cases for the first part of this quote. Dismiss the fundie, fine, but it's a little harder to dismiss logical reasoning like this: http://www.fredoneverything.net/EvolutionMonster.shtml
And yes, the quote went on to show definite hypocrisy. It was thinking like that that lost Christians the Scopes trials.
that seems hypocritical to say. Its easy to accept things that are proven by science, but you believe god and dont know how he did it....? When science clearly proves how science and evolution are a very possible theory. How can you call a person who believe in evolution narrow minded, because thats what they believe (with proof) But you are NOT narrow minded because of what you believe (no proof, except a long glorified novel)
Which mean you are holding yourself above others, looking down on their beliefs, .... to me that is narrow minded.
This seems like a silly and contradictory statement and on the surface it is. It would make more sense as a part of a larger discussion. Many Christians, (myself included) do not believe the words of the bible to be truth because of physical evidence but because of faith. This faith comes from God. It is a spiritual knowledge.
Christian: God made everything. I know he did it. I don't care how.
Atheist: I know Animals came from animals. I know it happened, because of the mounds and mounds of scientific research and evidence backing it. I know Evolution did it. I don't care how.
Christian: You're narrow minded and blindly accept the theory of evolution.
Do I smell a Hypocrite?
You are what we around here call "extremly stupid".
You know why it's not offensive to call someone a redneck? Because rednecks are by definition ridiculous people. You know Jeff Foxworthy? He may call himself a redneck, but he's not -- he's not the greatest comedian out there, but he's smart enough to be successful. On the other hand, if his family really is like he describes them, they are rednecks.
well in case you hadn't noticed i am in fact jesus and i can tell you right now that my father in fact did none of what he claimed to, he just read the original copy of the davinci code and renamed it 'the bible'.... sorry to disappoint you but your religion is a lie and nothing more than a best seller.
and the hyporite dickhead moron award goes to, THIS GUY.
I bet you he has never questioned Creationism.
Um, strike that, reverse it? That's what you meant right?
Please tell me that's what you meant.
You didn't meant that, did you?
You did, didn't you?
Damn it, we're all fucked, aren't we?
I can just see "reality shows" in the future where they get somebody to say this on T.V., just before sneaking two shotgun barrels onto the screen and severing his neck from the blast.
Killing off the surplus idiots for the entertainment of all!
I wish I could take credit for this:
"Philosophy is questions that may not be answered; Religion is answers that may not be questioned."
(If someone out there knows, please tell me who said this! It's brilliant and would make a great bumper sticker!)
"I often debate with evolutionists because I believe that they are narrow mindedly and dogmatically accepting evolution without questioning it."
Just like how most Christians accept Creationism! Congradulations, you are the Hypocrite of the Month!
FUCKING HYPOCRITE! TexasSky is doing EXACTLY what he supposedly rails against 'narrow mindedly and dogmatically accepting the [Bible/pastor's/fundy preacher's] word without questioning it'. Typical, narrow-minded, funda-MENTAL-ist whaleshit.
"[They are ]dogmatically accepting evolution without questioning it."
"I don't really care how God did what He did. I know He did it. "
Can you Christians ever critize anyone without projecting yourself?
Mirror, mirror on the wall
Whose the dumbest on of all
Mirror, mirror what is it
That makes me come out with this shit
Mirror, mirror 'twill come to pass
I speak with mouth and not my ass
"I don't really care how God did what He did. I know He did it."
This actually completely refutes your argument against Atheists. Thanks for playing, but you FAIL.
'I often debate with evolutionists because I believe that they are narrow mindedly and dogmatically accepting evolution without questioning it.'
Wrong, shithead - there is PROOF of it!
'I don't really care how God did what He did. I know He did it. '
Fucking hypocrite. He accuses normal people of narrow mindedly & dogmatically accepting evolution, then what does he do? He narrowly & dogmatically accepts the KJV Bible & some airhead pastor's word.
Talk about the pot calling the kettle black - fucking fundy hypocrites.
(Puts on shoes, fetches car keys, prepares to go out and buy a new irony meter).
That last sentence seems up fundiedom very neatly. It is the sign of an extremely limited intellect, but what else would one expect?
I don't really care how God did what He did. I know He did it.
Really? Were you there?
There are many documented 'Creation' stories: the ancient Mayan Popol Vuh. Aboriginal 'Dreamtime'. Even $cientology's 'OT-III Incident Document'.
Therefore - in the case of the latter - L. Ron Hubbard is God. And you don't have the right to think otherwise.
Teach the Controversy has really blown up in your own faces hasn't it, eh fundies...?!
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
