Why is it so hard for people today to realize that what we are coming up against is what appears to be the most important election ever. Friends the end is coming, and I for one IMHO feel that how we decide on our next leader will speed up the flame on the already lit wick attached to the inevitableness of His return. We have a chance to make a stand as Christians. We must take a hard look at the delegates, and their beliefs. I could care less what any one says about separation of church and state. First and foremost we have one leader, that being God, on which our country was founded. We seriously need to take a good hard look and find a true Christian that will put a stop, or at least give it one heck of a try to stop God from being removed from us.
And in my book.. Hussein Obama, is not a Christian, and I feel sorry for us all if he gets his foot in the door.

Searching for the "true Christians" with you lot should really narrow the field. By the definition you clowns give, each of you is the only true christian, and everyone else is heretic.
If your god is truly omnipotent, and you still believe in him, what the fuck difference does it make who leads the country, unless you plan on defying the bible and being a judge of your fellow man.
Another Pharisee!
Well, you're going to be raptured so soon that it matters jack-all who is elected President, right?
Actually, it's kind of heartening to hear from someone at Rapture Ready who has not embraced a self-destructive form of nihilism.
"First and foremost we have one leader, that being God, on which our country was founded"
Treaty.
Tripoli.
Bitch.
"Hussein Obama"
You can DIAF now please...
If the end is near, then why the fuck do you care who becomes president?
In the immortal words of Bugs Bunny, "What a maroon!"
Yeah he only believes that Jesus Christ rose from the grave to save humanity. Everyone knows that only real Christians are white, and have names like Robert Smith. Seriously, why are these people so upset about a black guy with a different name? Oh yeah, the xenophobia.
First, the name is Barack Obama, not "Hussein" Obama. Second, unfortunately he is a Christian (a "mainline" Christian, meaning he doesn't believe the Bible to be inerrant), as are all of the Democrats running for president, but he won't let it interfere with his responsibilities as president, unlike the Republicans.
I personally hope the Theocracy Now Party is dumb enough to nominate Huckabee, because he'll lose in such a landslide that fundies will never again even come close to the White House.
'I could care less what any one says about separation of church and state.' Meaning = as long as it gets done MY GOD's way, fuck everyone else. Yeah, I'd say that's pretty representative of the fundie/suicide bomber mentality.
"And in my book.. Hussein Obama, is not a Christian, "
Are you not judging someone? What about the Biblical injunction not to judge others. You know little enough about this man so to make a judgement like that is unjust and sinful. It is probably racist too. And you think you are 'saved'? You need saving from your prejudices first, and then any worthwhile decent person might begin to consider you a christian.
One, Obama is a Christian. No matter how much you yell, he is, all the data is there. Sorry if he's not a muslim and you're looking a total moron. Second, if God is coming, why should we bother for electing a good leader in those elections?. Following your logic, it doesn't seem to have many chances to do anything at all. One of the multiple nonsenses that you don't bother to explain.
Ifbaptist, we must be fundies, because the truth is that Obama is not a muslim. And if you think he is because he is black(rather biracial)and has a middle eastern name, you're even more stupid than I thought.
"Hussein Obama, is not a Christian."
Hey, I know him! Doesn't he live about two blocks down with Kike Huckabee, Ho'llary Clinton, Witch Romney, Joint McCain and that Frenchman Jean Le Dwards?
[Aside: Another one for the Fundie Word Redefinition Project (redefined by application)...
Political Satire (noun). Like name calling, but frequently less imaginative.]
"I for one IMHO"
Lexical analyzer need to grammar that sentence's parse.
"already lit wick attached to the inevitableness of His return."
You're attaching lit wicks to inevitableness of His return? Why not pin tails on the stupidity of his followers?
"We have a chance to make a stand as Christians"
Oh goody. I REALLY like to hear words like that.
"I could care less what any one says about separation of church and state."
Or anything else. Our western society is evil and must be destroyed, Allah will reward you with 72 virgins etc.
"First and foremost we have one leader, that being God, on which our country was founded."
First and foremost, you are an evil liar. You hate your country for WHAT IT IS, and have no interest in learning its history.
"And in my book.. Hussein Obama, is not a Christian,"
Fortunately, your weird paranoid paperback book is only relevant to you. Watch out for those end-time demons masquerading as X-Files aliens.
"I feel sorry for us all if he gets his foot in the door."
Feeling sorry for you because you're trapped by hatred and ignorance, may be the right thing to do, but it's tough.
Kennedy tackled "the Catholic issue" in a televised September 1960 speech to the Greater Houston Ministerial Association. He said communism, poverty, education and the space race were far more critical election issues but had been obscured by debate about his Catholicism.
He described his belief "in an America where the separation of church and state is absolute -- where no Catholic prelate would tell the president (should he be Catholic) how to act and no Protestant minister would tell his parishioners for whom to vote."
I believe that J. F. K , with all is human faults was still a great visionary and leader for the USA,( as well as his very educated, well groomed and cultured wife) he gave you the technology world leadership that you (fundy's) seem hell bent on throwing away for a return to some 16th Century Puritan inspired hell on earth brought over by the "Pilgram Fathers" who King James ( the gay guy who gave you guys your KJV Bable) expelled from England as heretics, morons, criminals and persons with extreme bad fashion sense.
How come the US seems to be traveling back in time in terms of what is expected from a mature educated democracy?
"...we are coming up against is what appears to be the most important election ever."
Don't you nuts say the same thing about every election?
---------------
"Friends the end is coming..."
Any day now, right? For the past 2000 years or so, the end has been nigh. You people are dedicated, I'll give ya that.
---------------
"I could care less what any one says about separation of church and state."
So you oppose the First Amendment that the founders put in place? How very un-American of you.
---------------
"First and foremost we have one leader, that being God, on which our country was founded."
Wrong. To quote another FSTDTer, "Stop trying to retcon reality!"
---------------
"We seriously need to take a good hard look and find a true Christian that will put a stop, or at least give it one heck of a try to stop God from being removed from us."
Who's trying to keep you from being Christian? I mean, really? Oh, wait, you're from RR. You think that not worshipping your web-cult = trying to take away God.
---------------
"And in my book.. Hussein Obama, is not a Christian, and I feel sorry for us all if he gets his foot in the door."
Fortunately, your opinion doesn't affect reality. He IS a Christian, whether you like it or not, and you can take your pre-formed notions and GTFO if he gets elected.
EDIT: Obama's first name is BARACK, not Hussein. Stop judging the man because of his middle name; it doesn't determine his religion! Wankers.
Why is it so hard?, because you explain it so badly that we suspect it's a lie and you have no idea what you're speaking about. Come on, if a name determines your religion, that's even worse.
Baraka is the Arabic for blessing. I know quite a number of Christian Arabs (Egyptians actually) one of whom is called Baraka. Oh, and btw, the Egyptian christian church was founded by Saint Mark - it pre-dates the European Reformation by 1500 years. It's divided into two branches the so-callled Monophysiite (formerly considered heretic, but that is generally now regarded as having been due to a misunderstanding) and that which aligns with western christianity.
Sorry fundies, they are there long before you. Barack is a good christian name long before your grnadpappies started to wear steeple hats and don scowls and start heretic beliefs such as the Rapture. As Bugs Bunny would say: what moroons!
Tsk. IFBaptist, hon, it's OUR country. O-U-R, not A-R-E.
I might be willing to believe you know the truth if you knew proper spelling.
But then again, probably not.
how we decide on our next leader will speed up the flame on the already lit wick attached to the inevitableness of His return
First, -20 for waterboarding our beloved language. (And while we're here: the phrase is "I could *NOT* care less", otherwise it implies that you *do* care to some amount.) Second...
I feel sorry for us all if he gets his foot in the door
Why? Won't he just be helping you see Jesus quicker?
one leader, that being God
So then who cares who's elected?
WretchSaved at an Italian restaurant:
"I'd like the pesto logic, please"
"Uh, the what?"
"The pesto spaghetti. Oh, did I say logic? Sorry, I get those two confused all the time"
...
Isn't the Rapture Ready crowd the ones who really, really want The End Of The World to come faster? Then...why aren't they urging people to act in such a way to make Jesus com back faster...
They want The End to come faster, but they're also trying to delay it !?
...Ow, my brain.
"Hussein Obama, is not a Christian..."
Oh yes he is. And stop calling him by his middle name just because you are a paranoid racist.
"Are you not judging someone? What about the Biblical injunction not to judge others."
Good point... However, many of the RRers, having had several threads on the issue of judging, have come to the conclusion that "righteous" judging doesn't count. Regular judging, such as an infidel might engage in, is still bad. "Righteous judgement," on the other hand, being passed "in Christ's love" and with the "guidance of the Holy Spirit" (i.e., however they happen to feel/think) is a good thing and is therefore not condemned by that passage in the Bible. See? :)
"Hussein" is Obama's middle name. It means "good looking" in Arabic. Obama's father was a Muslim. He left the family when Obama was two. Obama is a member of Trinity United Church of Christ. The UCC is a Protestant denomination which says in its constitution:
The United Church of Christ acknowledges as its sole Head, Jesus Christ, Son of God and Savior. It acknowledges as kindred in Christ all who share in this confession. It looks to the Word of God in the Scriptures, and to the presence and power of the Holy Spirit, to prosper its creative and redemptive work in the world. It claims as its own the faith of the historic Church expressed in the ancient creeds and reclaimed in the basic insights of the Protestant Reformers. It affirms the responsibility of the Church in each generation to make this faith its own in reality of worship, in honesty of thought and expression, and in purity of heart before God. In accordance with the teaching of our Lord and the practice prevailing among evangelical Christians, it recognizes two sacraments: Baptism and the Lord's Supper or Holy Communion.
Maybe Fundie Baptists don't regard this church as Christian (indeed, that bunch of self-righteous, pecksniffing bigots don't consider anyone other than themselves to be Christians), but most rational people who actually speak English, as opposed to their own invented language, do.
"See what I did there?"
"Yes. You disregarded everything Obama said, and took parts of his name out of context in order to poke fun at him in a manner fit for 12-year-olds."
"LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL"
"LOL indeed."
Grow up, or at least actually BE 12 so you can't vote.
"First and foremost we have one leader, that being God, on which our country was founded."
Unless I am mistaken, we didn't find 'our country' for some 11,500 years after God created it and God had already given it already belonged to somebody else.
Luckily, God allowed us to murder its indigenous population in his name in order for it to be 'our country'.
If God hadn't allowed us to carry out mass genocide to exterminate and breed out its indigenous populace, would this country still mean so much to us?
What if its not 'our country' at all?
Will he be a bit disappointed when He comes back?
The Founding Fathers Were NOT Christians
http://dim.com/~randl/founders.htm
It was during John Adam's administration that the Senate ratified the Treaty of Peace and Friendship, which states in Article XI that "the government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian Religion."
Enjoy
If you get raptured... why does it matter?
#409009, just on a side note, doesn't he ID as Black, though biracial?
Yea, and Huckafundie is the answer! Sure he is, just today he made a speech about changing the Constitution to reflect God's view.
Yes, that's the answer right there.
America was founded on freedom of religion, and separation of church and state. "One Nation Under God" was added to "Our Pledge of Allegiance" much later. Most people have come to this country to start a life apart from religious persecution and racial one-sidedness. You have your Christian in office, now. Sending our Men and Woman to war to steal territory and resources. Taking money from the poor and health care from ill children. Pocketing our money and lying to our faces, while our economy races toward rock bottom. I pray there is a God.
My jaw would hit the floor so hard it'd shatter if I ever read anything from these people like, 'This election ?? Oh no, it's just a regular old election. I mean I still believe this rapture thing is gonna happen at some point but I don't think this current politician is the antichrist or anything. I totally don't approve of his politics but I don't think he's the one who's gonna destroy the world' for decades upon decades it's always 'THIS guy is the antichrist. He proves the end is nigh'. You'd think after 2000 years of constant disappointment you'd at least learn to consider the possibility that the rapture was more than a year away.
Confused?
