[In response to the question 'Is Pokemon satanic?']
I know that some people, especially Christians, think that Pokemon is evil, well, I can understand why, because it makes some references to the theory of evolution. Also, I'm not sure if this is actually evil/sinful, but Pokemon also has some references to Japanese culture, and probably even their Shinto religion.

That's because Pokémon comes from Japan, dumbfuck.
There is absofuckinglutely nothing at all evil or sinful about Pokémon, and I'd really like to know where you arse-hats even got that idea in the first place. Did you ever actually even try the games, which are arguably the best collection RPGs of all time? My guess is no. Please go throw rocks into a Beedrill nest.
Last I checked the theory of evolution doesn't claim that animals suddenly morph into something else by fighting other animals. In your stupidity you are no doubt basing your idiotic claim on the show's use of the word "evolve" alone. However, if you bothered with a dictionary you'd see that actual evolution that involves actual science has to do with "gradual" change and gradual change only. It also has to do with a little thing called reproduction. Perhaps you've heard of it.
It makes references to evolution, yes...In name only. In fact, it's closer to the creationist's (inaccurate) view of evolution: That A, evolution ALWAYS leads to stronger, more complex forms, and B. evolution can happen in the blink of an eye.
Pokemon could be equated with Lamarckian evolution, I guess. I don't doubt that Pokeman is evil however. To paraphrase Clerks 2:
The Pokemon were a total slight against God. In as much as God sent his only begotten son to die on the cross to redeem mankind and all we did to pay him back was make terrible fucking cartoons, like Pokemon.
I hope everybody understands that pokemon evolution is vastly different- nay, unrelated to darwinian evolution.
Sadly, I think a few idiots will believe they are the same.
The same woman says:
"Thats all I remember about the subject for now. Bottom line, is that its pretty harmless, I don't think you will have to worry too much, but sounds like the real problem may be how long he plays the games. I hope this helped."

Arghhhh!!! Kids are watching stuff that has references to another culture!!! Kill it with fire!!!
Ok, to start off Pokemon is a cartoon, not reality. Another thing, when the critters change, it's like a butterfly from a caterpillar.
You fundies have too much time on your hands if this is such a big concern.
I think this is more or less a mined quote:
I'm sorry to barge on in the Woman's Discussion forum, but I was once a fan of Pokemon, and I have a few things to say about it. I'm a Christian too.

To me this person basically tries to explain how to some Christians Pokemon may seem evil (because it mentions evolution and possibly refers to Japanese culture and religion) but he himself feels that it is basically harmless.
This certainly doesn't deserve the 4.8 on the fundi scale.
Breathing is evil - think of all those demons that are in the air. You could inhale - thousands of them.
Thinking is evil as there are all those dirty thoughts waiting to invade your mind.
Evil is everywhere. You can see it. It's in the movies, on TV, on the streets, and even in children.
Satan is soooo powerful and he wants YOU. And he uses his demons to find your weak spots to penetrate and take you over. It really best not to live in this world at all.

"and probably even their Shinto religion"
Love this bit.
"It references other religions??!?!?!"
"Probably!!!!!!!"
"Then it's certainly evil!!!!!"
Some references to Japanese culture?!?!
That's like saying that apple pie is somewhat American, or the kazoo, or fast food...
Constantine opposes pokeman like Hamas and Al-Queda do. He must be a terrorist.

Qaradawi is active in the Muslim Brotherhood, which Islam expert Robert Spencer has called "the parent organization of Hamas and al Qaeda." At various times in his life, Qaradawi has reportedly turned down opportunities to serve as the Brotherhood's leader. His preference, he explains, is to avoid tying himself to "any movement which might constrain my actions, even if this is the Muslim Brotherhood under whose umbrella I grew and which I so defended."
Qaradawi served as Dean of the Islamic Department at the Faculties of Shariah and Education in Qatar, and as a Chairman of the Islamic Scientific Councils of Algerian Universities and Institutions. He was also a faculty member at the Michigan-based Islamic American University (IAU), a subsidiary of the Muslim American Society. Until at least June 2003 he was Chairman (in abstentia) of the IAU Board of Trustees.
In 2003 Qaradawi issued a fatwa against the Japanese video and trading-card game "Pokemon," which he believed advanced Jewish doctrines. According to Qaradawi, the gibberish uttered by the animated characters meant "Become a Jew."

PIKACHU? MOAR LIEK PIKAJEW, AMIRITE?
...sorry, I couldn't resist...
Evolution acording to Creationist pricks:
Dum, dum dum ,dam dam, dum dum...
tarara tardararara
Your Hominid has now evolved into Homo sapiens!!!!
How dare a Japanese cartoon make reference to the Japanese culture! The evil heathens! As for references to evolution - gee, ya' think that the Japanese, who are not traditionally christian, give a shit about the fundie argument against the theory? You can't censor everyone, no matter how much you'd like to. Besides, it's not as if they give an accurate depiction of the theory; they've made up their own definition, for the sake of their made up cartoon world. Sort of like fundies do when they make up their own fundie definitions of words and concepts. You should be able to really understand that.
You have just given mountains of evidence for the theory that fundies talk out of their asses rather than actually learning something.
Pokevolution isn't even Lamarckian evolution. It's metamorphosis, as evidenced by the myriad caterpillar-pupae-moth 'evolution' paths. It's weird to see that trait retained in the whole spectrum of multicellular creatures, though, including plants.
Whether this is fundie or not hangs on "I can understand why, because it makes some references to the theory of evolution.". I understand why some people think evolution is evil - they lack the intelligence to understand the science, and lack the morals to make truth more important to them than following a religion. Somehow I don't think this is what Constantine meant.
Is rock music Satanic?
Is Dungeons and Dragons Satanic?
Are homosexuals Satanic?
Is your mom Satanic?
It's like a broken record with these guys. The question changes slightly with each passing decade but it always boils down to "Is (fill in the blank) Satanic?"
Well, it ALL is! I'm in constant personal contact with Satan (My faith is strong. I know His Infernal Majesty answers my sacrifi....I mean prayers) and Our Dark Lord has assured me that the plan to corrupt your children via music and games is right on schedule.
Love,
Anton Szandor LaVey
I remember this. At one point when I was younger, maybe 03 or 04, my sister said something about a controversy over how pokemon evolve.
They fight. Gain experience. Gain levels. Morph into new creatures.
I think it's appropriate to say...
EVOLUTION DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY!
My fundie parents threw away my Pokemon stuff in 2003 (about $4000 in cards, all the games, movies, etc. I miss the shit, would've been nice to have in adulthood to look back upon) but I came back to it with no issues in 2005.
Yeah, I'm a pokemon fan. Big fucking deal. :P
/but Pokemon also has some references to Japanese culture, and probably even their Shinto religion./
Oh, no! Our children are learning about other cultures! They're learning that America is not the only country on earth! Whatever shall we do? /sarcasm/
Biological evolution and Pokemon evolution aren't the same.
If it were, I'd have gotten some cool fangs or tail or something by now.
what's wrong with Japanese cultural references? Japan has an awesome culture.
Also the "evolution" in the Pokemon series has shit all to do with real evolution. They should have called it metamorphosis, but I guess they thought that was too long for 9 year old kids to deal with.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
