True - they are not a Biblically based church. The gunman was not affiliated with the church. I suspect he has no idea about what a Unitarian church is....but just wanted to kill "Christians." The larger lesson here is that the world is becoming increasingly hostile to the church. Our church gets death threats all the time.....

The Unitarian church in the Western Mass. town I grew up in had a beutiful stained glass window called "The Good Shepherd." If that's an inspirational message to them, then yes, Unitarians are Chritians and yes, you're an ignorant sack of shit.

Sorry there but the shooter Jim Adkisson is one of you guys. He despised the Unitarian church for their liberal views and did what each and every single one of you wish you had the guts to do.

It's worse than most of you think. I live in Knoxville, and you should hear the talk radio shows. 1st of all, you should know that Knoxville talk radio is 100% right-wing, from the local to the syndicated shows. So much for the 'Liberal Media'. I have been listening for the past couple of days hoping to hear some honest dialogue. One caller actually said that they had it coming to them because they were so open with their views. Another caller said that it was sad that everyone at the church was going to hell because of UU beliefs. One guy said tried to tie what happened to the information that he had heard about how 32% of Muslim's kids in England thought it was ok to kill someone of other faiths. The host himself said that he dreaded how this would galvanize ther far left sites like Daily Kos. Most of the others were complaining about liberals making up 'Hate Crime' legislation. I am not making this up. This will never get better until Conservatives look in the mirror and understand that their horrible philosophy is partially to blame.

He wrote a four-page letter explicitly saying how much he wanted to go after liberals. He specifically chose the UU church because of its liberal stance. Found in his house after the shooting took place were books like Savage's "Liberalism is a Mental Disorder."
It's everyone else's turn to cry persecution and hatred - Because that's what happened. Few things make me truly angry, but this just sickens me.
Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Michael Savage, etc. should be sued for everything they own over this. They are deliberately using the airwaves to create monsters.
Lying for Jebus again, I see. First, the gunman was a conservative christian pissed off that the UU church was too liberal. Second, I seriously doubt your church gets death threats, unless it's hiding Bin Laden, which, considering fundamentalist christian morals, I wouldn't doubt.
Your gunman wasn't targeting exclusively Christian people, he was targeting gays and liberals. Which is why he went to a Unitarian church. He knew exactly what kind of church it was.
Given your attitude, I'd imagine you'd have been relatively safe from him.
