Ghandi, if he died without believing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, is in hell right now, and will never get out. He was a sinner like the rest of us, and all the good deeds in the world don't pay for and forgive even just ONE sin.
Either Jesus pays for your sins, or you pay for them in eternal torment in hell. That is the choice before you.

I really, really get pissed off at anyone who says Ghandi is going to hell.
That man is better than you will ever be.
Don't worry, ArmandT, I am not going to say that your humanist idol is going to hell. I'm going to say that he IS in hell, being tormented for his sins this very minute.
Boing, you really don't want to be in the hands of a "fair" God. A fair God would snap his fingers and send us all to hell right now. A mericiful God, on the other hand, would offer to pardon and save some of us from our rightly deserved punishment. In fact, a merciful God would even give sinners like you a chance to repent and turn to Him in faith.
Regarding God's 'fairness,' I am beginning to think that hell may include different levels and types of punishment, much like the modern prison system. I see evidence for this in the Bible (the servant with less knowledge being beaten with fewer stripes, and the servant with more knowledge being beaten more severely for his refusal to obey). For instance, a gluttonous person might be deprived of food but tormented by an insatiable apetite. Children who die in their sins may simply be locked away in isolation, without being physically tormented. Drunks might be thirsty throughout eternity. One person might simply be beaten for their disobedience, while another is left to burn in unimaginable pain because their sins were much greater, and so forth. That kind of makes sense to me, and like I said, there is some biblical support for that idea. I'm not advocating some crazy Dante's Inferno kind of deal, and don't get me wrong; your best day in hell will be much much worse than anything you could even imagine. But I don't think that Hitler and Gandhi will necessarily receive the same level of punishment for their sins.
MessianicServant, God impregnated a woman with himself so he could sacrifice himself to himself to save us from himself and a situation he himself set up.
Because, apparently, omnicient beings cannot, in fact, see the future and an omnipotent being who can speak entire realities into existence cannot fix his own fuck-ups except through ridiculously complicated and convoluted schemes.
Another one of these idiots, and MessianicServant's back?
Just for you, let's play it your way. Your way, but just a little bit different. A little nicer, the way I humbly expect a benevolent God truly might behave.
I hope you don't go to Hell. I hope there's only Heaven. I hope there's God, that Jesus was real, and that you'll get to waltz into Heaven feeling all superior, just to discover that Jesus and Ghandi are in the VIP room, together with Buddha and a whole lot of other symbols of humanity's capacity for goodness and wisdom.
And ya' know where you'll be? With the rest of us. And we'll remember you said this and we'll... Not give a fuck. 'Cause we're better than that, dipshit.
Meanwhile, here on imperfect Earth, we'll just ridicule your audacity, dumbfuck.
Now, deal with it.

"Bob" looks down on you for declining to face your faith, and I do concur - You are a COWARD under the Lord! Speak of this or lose your breath to challenge others in kind!
"all the good deeds in the world don't pay for and forgive even just ONE sin."
And you people don't see the inherent injustice and irrationality of such a system, do you? And you more than willingly worship the entity that supposedly created such an intolerant method of judgment in order to get around his sadistic and deliberately impossible expectations? Hell of a religion, dude.
@MessianicServant: Punishment proportionate to the crime? HERESY!!!
Man, Gandhi was a pretty decent guy, as people go. I always wished I could have sat down and had a chat with him. I guess I'll go to hell just for that. Why do all the good people who are worth talking to end up there? If it's not because they're not Christian, it's because they're Catholic, or Protestant, or Baptist........
So if Gandhi's in hell because he was a good person, but didn't believe in your specific God- by that logic, heaven would be full of the likes of Hitler, Falwell, and a whole legion of God-bothered Rapturites.
I'd much rather go to Hell. That's where all the fun people are going.
Anyways, how do YOU know you're not going to be sent to the Pit by Primus along with Unicron and his minions? I mean, Optimus Prime died for your sins, and was resssurected by the Matrix. It's all here in the holy book of the Covenant of Primus (aka- some old Marvel comics I had lying around- what do you mean they're fiction? Someone wrote them so obviously they were dictated by Primus's will!) as written by the great prophet Simon Furman.
"Children who die in their sins may simply be locked away in isolation, without being physically tormented."
*Choke*
Do you even realize how sick and horrifying you sound?
You guys might be right. I need to do a study on the subject before I draw any conclusions. I don't think its heretical, though; there are Bible passages that talk about this. For instance, Jesus said of the people of Capernaum "it will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah than it will be for you in the day of judgment."
Also, I'm sure God was not pleased with Ghandi's lewd manner of dress. Ghandi regularly paraded around the streets of India with his heiny hanging out and nothing on his body but a thin, diaper-like garmet. These lurid displays of his emaciated body would surely not have pleased God.
MessianicServant....
Just shut up.
"Alright. Enjoy the barbecue. Let me know if you ever change your mind."
Thanks for the Christian "love", MessianicServant...you hypocritical self-righteous cunt.
"According to you, in Hell with Gandhi."
What reason would any sane person with morales and a personality have to go to the heaven of the Real True "Christians" (tm), anyway? Seems to be worse than Dante's hell.
I'll be in... Valhalla! Why? Because it's the opposite of Hel!
Sounds familiar, MessianicPagan? ^^
Nowhere in the ORIGINAL - HEBREW - VERSION (translations just don't live up to that standard) are the words God or Hell even mentioned. You have ge'he'nom and a few others for Hell (although it's not central to the OT in the first place), and you have a whole bunch for God (YHVH, Elohim, Adonai, ha'Shem (rings a bell?) and E'heye Asher E'heye to name a few), but God and Hell aren't even mentioned.
Well, let's be fair and humble - aren't mentioned, IIRC. Feel free to check it out and get back to me. ;)
So tell me, are you just a fuzzy little pagan-in-denial, using borrowed pagan terms and ideas to further your fuzzy little pagan-in-denial aims? Hmmmm? :)
to reaffirm my faith all I have to do is read fstdt. You can guess what my faith IS NOT.
how the bloody hell can anybody talk about children in that manner? "Children who die in their sins...blahblah" That's 'effing crazy talk. Sick and horrifying as DarthVader put it...
By this "logic" billions of people are cursed to spend eternity in torment simply through the accident of where they were born. People born in Laos, for example, who live in the jungle and most likely will never even hear of Jesus Christ before they die certainly have no fair opportunity to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ let alone believe and accept it...so....fuck them? Assholes.
Messianic, if you truly believe what you said about kids dying in sin and you still worship your imaginary friend ....well, just fuck you.
Jesus said it best in Luke when he said the parable of the tax collector and the scribe. The scribe thinks he's bad-ass and starts giving a laundry list of reasons why he kicks ass and even badmouths the tax collector. However, the tax collector doesn't even look up to Heaven and asks God for mercy and forgiveness.
MessianicServant is the equivalent of the scribe.
See, this is the cornerstone of Fundamentalist Christian. An easy out over anyone they want, in that they get to go to Heaven because all they have to go is say the magic word. They don't have to be charitable, patient...hell they don't even have to be remotely kind...because that doesn't count, or not enough to make any difference.
If the gospel was so important to everyone's salvation, the gospel would be programmed directly into everyone's instincts. After all, a young child's soul is fresh and clean from its creation, and does well naturally. [Well enough even, that Christ told his people to respect the wisdom of children.]
You note we are not born with bibles in our hands. So it is obviously not a life-and-death, heaven-or-hell requirement.
"This has really led me to wonder if Ghandi was homosexual, or least into voyeuristic showmanship."
@MessianicServant: The bible says Isaiah walked around naked for two years. Does that mean he was "homosexual or least unto voyeuristic showmanship?" Are you even aware that Isaiah did this, or have you, like most of your ilk, neglected to read the bible you thump so vigorously?
That was, of course, a rhetorical question. Your fixation on Hell reveals that you have never read or understood the words of your alleged savior. If you read the first three gospels you will find that Jesus tied salvation inextricably to helping the poor and afflicted. Jesus wants active servants, not mindless ass-kissers.
And if I am wrong and he does want ass-kissers, he does not deserve my praise!
Confused?
