I believe that the husband and wife should vote as one: meaning that, after discussing the possible options, both come to a mutual decision and the wife strengthens the husband's vote with hers. I think it's a shame if the wife disregards her husband's opinion and "cancels" his vote by choosing the opposite. And in my opinion, the same is true for adult unmarried daughters - they are under their father's authority until marriage.

Although I have some misgivings about some of the things Obama wants to do, I am glad that he won because it dealt a blow to the Fundie nutjobs who think that they have a right to control the country and force their religious beliefs on others. There are people who think that we should all live like this Fundie here says. I think Palin is close to being one of them, and I'm very glad she did not get in the White House.
I find such comments sickening, when they come from a woman, even more so.
You, lady, should get out of your oppressive marriage and get some help from a shrink.
You have a right to your own opinion in a free society, even a mind numbingly stupid one such as this.
However, you certainly don't speak for all women, so quit trying.
My wife is not my clone, and neither is my daughter. They will vote the way they choose.
My parents have disagreed on every single election since they were married in 1986 (well, except for 2004).
So fuck off. Stop telling me I have to agree with my father.

's true, y'know.
Sorry, I married a woman, not a mannequin.
Not all of us fear having our opinions disagreed with you know. Some of us even find it engaging.
Holy fuck. This woman is either whipped into submission by beatings from her 'loving' hubby, or it's a man posing as a woman in order to make such views acceptable.
Either way, it's fucking scary.

You know, those Muslims you hate so dearly have an awfully similar view on women's role.
F-f-f-f-f-FUCK YOU BITCH.
BTW, my dad followed MY lead and voted Obama. My mom refused to vote either party and went with Nader. Again, fuck you.

ORLY? Then what, pray tell, is my father's opinion since I haven't seen the bastard since the first grade?
What are you doing on the internet? Does your husband/father know you've learned to read when you should have been cooking and making babies?
Ugh, just typing that makes me want to gargle with lighter fluid.
How can a WOMAN even say such a horrible thing. That is by far one of the most disgusting things I've read here, and trust me, I've read some sick shit! Please, please, just blow your brains out or hang yourself!
I don't like what she's proposing exactly, but two minor things:
1. She's not in the US. I don't think that changes her being wrong, but it makes it kind of dumb to cite dates/laws from the US as why she's wrong.
2. She doesn't seem to be proposing that anybody be forced to do anything, or that women not have any input. Note the words "mutual decision". I don't want to follow this plan myself, but if a particular family wants to get together and agree on who to vote for, why should I care?
i chanced upon her blog couple years ago and it goes from "ok, thats sweet and all but so unrealistic" to "What the fuck?!" And this comment abt voting just takes the cake. It is scary for me, as a woman, to know that there are women out there who truly believe that feminism is very bad and that marriage and babies are a must. If you're a working mother, you get nothing but hate spewing from these so called godly women. That we deserve to be tired, to see our kids malnourished bc they had KD or if our husbands leave us. The insanity!
Anna T.: You're insane!
Why shouldn't fundies and misogynists lose their vote? It'd be the easiest way to fix our respective countries... Oh, right, because then Bavaria would have more people in the Landtag than actually voted for them.

why are these idiots so willing to give away the rights that women struggeled so long to get. and willingly give them away even though the rights benifit them.
would they also like to remove the spousal abuse system since the wife is the property of the husband?
If I didn't dislike cursewords I would say "Fuck you!".
But as I hesitate to use such strong language I'll say: There is no way I would subordinate myself like that. My opinion is just as much worth as my husbands's, maybe more so 'cause I am usually the one who collects info before we do stuff like vote and do our tax returns. And, here in Sweden we have like eight or ten different parties to vote for, so there is no automatic cancelling of votes.
My dad would rather disown me for being submissive, than for being independent. Btw, I was living with my then husband-to-be for seven years before we married, was I then, according to you, under his authority or under my dad's?
So, women shouldn't be able to vote, that is what you are really saying, isn't it? We have come a long way since the beginning of the 20'th century, why would you want to go back there?
Why should the husband decide? What makes him more suitable, the thing dangling between his legs or what?
Well, my family does actually take this approach. We go over each issue and candidate, and make a decision as a family on who to vote for. Only we don't frame it in such patriarchal terms. We frame as a means to maximize our family's political sway.
Power to our family! Virtue and Clarity!
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
