Christians, or better to say real christians, not the pew warmers, are a minority in your US.
Please define "real christians". Real christians are the only ones who agree with your particular bent on the teachings of Jesus, is what you really mean. Jesus wasn't that exclusionary, son.
These are the ones to say what they think of homosexuality and all other sins.
Again, not very Christ-like of you. Jesus, (not you), as the son of God, being a god himself, had the authority to pass judgements. You, however, have no such god-given authority. Read your New Testament a bit more closely, particularly the first two Gospels. Not very Christ-like at all.
They are the ones being targeted by homosexual activists who do threaten and attack them.
I would need to see a citation for this, because all of the violence and hatred, threats and attacks have come from so-called Christians, against homosexuals.
Not those who have embraced other views than the biblical ones.
Don't you mean "not those who have embraced other views than ""my interpretation of"" the biblical ones.
No i won't suggest that it's good to hate sinners, as christians are sinners too, but forgiven sinners, but the truth has to be told if you believe it to be true.
The problem that Christians have in debating Atheists is that when the Christians say it is "true", they are refering to their faith, in the Bible. The problem most Christians have is ignoring the real beauty of Jesus' message of love and forgiveness, of personal salvation, and a hope for a better future. Atheists don't understand why your interpretation of Scripture is any more valid than any other Bible-based religions.
The dichotomy of faith and knowledge, myth and history, belief and certainty. For to have knowledge, of certitude, is to deny faith. You believe you have the truth. In your mind, any who disagree are not real Christians.
By the way, i live in the Netherlands, where christians in general and especially the biblically fundamental ones are are small minorities.
That chart you have only applies to the US and only to the pew warmers and the false gospel followers.
Yet anyway i'm just informing you.
Again i'll repeat myself, you're more indoctrinated with false information than me, a real fundie from a land you never considered.
Whatever land you call home, your viewpoints about the rights and freedoms of others is indicative of the fundamentalist mindset. What is "true" for you, must, by necessity, be true for everyone, correct? You are welcome to believe that for yourself. I would never interfere with your right to worship in any manner you please, except for human sacrifice. I would draw the line there. The moment that you attempt to impose your beliefs on my freedoms, you are guilty of the sin of the Pharisees.
Closeminded you versus openminded me.
Now moot.
More info: World wide christians do face persecution for their belief and they're even the most persecuted group for some time.
Have you seen the civilian casualty count in the "war on terror"? According to your beliefs, we are fighting a war against Islam, not terror. I can tell you that this slaughter, that you would invoke in the name of God and Jesus Christ, is an abonimnation to the teachings of Jesus.
Compare the body count in Iraq and Afghanistan of dead civilians to the numbers of Christians murdered each year because of their faith. The Christian number is minute, compared to that. No follower of the teachings of Jesus would condone that and invoke the power of God to do it.
Think about that and may God open your minds.
Yes, do think about what I have written. Open YOUR mind, to the possiblity that because someone disagrees with you interpretation of the Bible and the teachings of Jesus, they are not necessarily wrong. Their interpretation of the teachings of Jesus may be more valid than yours. The fact that the Bible is open to interpreation, results in multiple interpretations, hence tens of thousands of Christian denominations in the world. Please, do think.
