Where is the humor to be found in this? I suppose the producers of this film are banking on the return of Morgan Freeman, as a nasty talking, ghetto-acting, colored Lord and Savior, will appeal to enough people to fill the theaters.

Actually, there wasn't a lot of humor in that movie. I'll give you that one. Morgan Freeman is awesome, though.
Damn straight -- actors don't get any classier than Mr Freeman. I can totally see him as our saviour.
Hmm... Morgan sounds an awful lot like Gordon. Has Morgan Freeman been out there saving us from Head Crabs and The Combine? He's never denied it, so I'm forced to assume that he has.

I don't believe anyone should act as "God" whether it's a movie or....as a god....it's disrespectful...no one is as God.....and he's only pointing out, the producers wanted to make the movie to where all audiences will like it...
If you want to get deep, the truth is that Jesus was all races. Jesus is a descendant of King David, and David marrid a black woman ,Bethsheba, they had solomon and so on....Jesus is somewhat black and jewish...and other races......pretty cool huh?

It was a lame movie but the one thing that made it all worthwhile was exactly the thought of what God being portrayed as a black man would have on these racist, fundie imbeciles.
Given the choice between Morgan Freeman and the horribly vindictive God of the OT especially, the black dude wins hands down. Not because he's black, but because he's a normal human being.

Nasty talking... Well that's of concern, especially in a family movie (But I think, as Evan Almighty is a PG film and he plays God...)
Ghetto-acting... I don't understand that one. Ever seen "Boyz in the Hood". A pretty good film about life in the ghetto!
COLORED?... What's the problem with God being portrayed by an African-American? Anyways, God might not actually be a white-bearded Caucasian man in the sky. It says in the Bible no one has actually seen God, so why do you think God's NOT dark skinned?.
