An investigation has been launched in France after female staff at the Eiffel Tower were replaced by male colleagues for the visit of a Hindu religious group.

A delegation of around 100 people linked to the Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) group visited the iconic landmark in Paris on Saturday.

"Women were asked to leave their places of work" and felt "humiliated", staff union representative Diane Davoine said. The tower closed on Monday as staff went on strike to show their outrage.

BAPS - a movement whose beliefs originate in the 18th Century - strictly separates men and women, including in temple activities and building entrances.

Ariel Weil, who is the president of the company that runs the Eiffel Tower, blamed its managers for being "a bit overzealous" in complying with the request without considering whether it was "inappropriate".

Weil, who is also mayor of Paris Centre, told French broadcaster Franceinfo on Tuesday that the incident was "totally shocking and unacceptable".

An internal investigation will determine who was responsible for putting the conditions in place, Weil said, and ensure it "never happens again".

In a statement reported by AFP news agency, staff at the monument said that during Saturday's visit, female employees were also "instructed not to go through or cross certain areas while the delegation was present".

"Tensions mounted over the weekend, so [on Monday morning], the employees decided to meet: first, to open a dialogue with management, and second, to ensure that women are never treated this way at the company again," Davoine said.

I could almost feel my friend, a feminized male, flinch when I said, "The heterosexual dynamic is based on a man convincing a woman to do what he wants and her acquiescing." I had committed heresy. I've been studying American and world history lately, which are fascinating subjects to me. It has been said that history is HIS-STORY (that is, God's story, for we see the hand of God at work over the centuries of time). Time was, time is, time shall soon be past. Many genuine Christians today (such as myself) are curious as to whether our founding fathers were literal Christians or simply religious to some extent. Sadly to report, Benjamin Franklin was a religious heathen who denied the deity of Jesus Christ. A Modernist is a person who professes faith in religion or a higher power, i.e., a form of godliness; but they DENY the power thereof of the saving gospel of Jesus Christ as 2nd Timothy 3:5 teaches. Romans 1:16, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
Ironically, the world renowned man who was famous for researching and studying all of the sciences, arts, astronomy, philosophies and intellectual subjects, totally ignored the Bible. Go figure! Benjamin Franklin admits in the same letter just before his death that he does not dogmatize his disbelief in the deity of Jesus Christ, “having never studied it.” How tragic! How sad! How could one of the most brilliant minds in American history study everything except the inspired Word of God? Do you know why Benjamin Franklin never pursued the teachings of the Bible concerning Christ and salvation? The Bible gives us the answer in John 3:20, “For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.” Mr. Franklin was known for chasing women, drinking lots of wine and partaking of occult ceremonies with the Freemason lodge and the infamous Hellfire Club. At least nine of the signers of the Declaration of Independence were occult Freemasons. Franklin speaks of observing Christ's moral teachings and religion, but there is no personal trust in the Lord Jesus Christ which is required for salvation (Romans 10:9-10). Mr. Franklin was an unsaved Modernist who learned the awful truth on April 17th, 1790 when he died and went to Hell. Finally, it should be noted that the text I think specifically says boys, so we cannot be sure that babies or male children below a certain age weren't spared. Perhaps it was just the boys who already had been exposed and initiated to the barbaric and evil ways of their people, and therefore too far gone, who were killed, and the rest of the males were spared as well. In fact, we hear about Midianites in later chapters of the Bible, so actually we can assume that some were in fact spared."
