Why did you question her when she said that? She obviously was not asking for your opinion. It's generally not appropriate for cis people to recenter the point of view and discussions away from a trans person's.
I will guarantee you that she was talking about something when she said that. Cis people do awful things to trans people all day, and it is exhausting when we also have to deal with allies' microagressions.
You're a great ally! We don't want to have to validate that. Don't get defensive about it. Just listen when we're birching about something without making it about you.
