For fucks sake. Do they honestly think their marriage traditions have any meaning anyway beyond a ring, a piece of paper, and glory in the eyes of some fictional deity? It's just a fucking ceremony, it doesn't make you special.

And just give up on keeping gay marriage off the books, matey-boy. It's not a matter of it; it's a matter of when it becomes legal. And why is that so? Because in America a marriage only needs the sanction of the government---religious institutions play zero part in how legitmate someone's marriage is.

This despite recent polling suggesting the opinions of the people of California haven't budged on Prop 8 in over a month; 52% opposed, 42% in favor. Doesn't bode well for the pro-hates. In California 90% of ballot initiatives which don't start out with a majority in favor generally fail at the ballot box. But a month with no traction? That's pretty good news for Teh Gheys. Teh Fundies are of course in a state of mass-hysteria.
Don Wildmon (fundy tard) recently declared in a newsletter to the American Family Association that if they don't pass Prop 8 "Christians" will have lost the culture war. Really? Failing to pass the pro-hate amendment in Massachusetts hasn't stopped fundies from proposing it EVERY FREAKIN SESSION. But whatever.
So, what happens to the people who are already legally married? Do their marriages still count? What about joint assets?
It would be a mess to reverse it now.
