Evolution teaches man came via death, mutation and billions of years. Scripture says we were created, as were all living creatures, and before sin there was no death. Because of sin and death, there must be atonement, or reconciliation to a Holy God. Jesus Christ provides that atonement. Therefore if sin came after death, then the curse is false, then the need for atonement is false, therefore Christ died in vain. Pretty easy to see why the lie of evolution is so important to Satan. Incidentally, let me go on record here for all time (or as long as there’s Google) that should evolution be proven - then the Bible is false and untrustworthy. But I’m not worried about that.

The ToE has enough evidence so that you won´t find any serious scientist who has arguments against it.
But you won´t have to look at the ToE to find out that the bible is false and untrusthworthy. Looking into the bible without pink glasses might be sufficient to find out that tghe bible aside from many gems and thought provoking passages also contains lots of rubbish and fables that were believed by the people 2000-3000 years ago, because they didn´t know better.
You should be. Your bible is false, unreliable and untrustworthy. It is a compilation of fantasy and mythology of primitive desert dwellers compiled and anthologized by the RCC.

I'm going to play this one on Ron Shank's terms, as the basic argument is one that non-fundy Christians like myself need to be able to counter.
Accepting Jesus doesn't prevent death, unless you're honestly suggesting that there has never been a true Christian in history. Even if we assume the fundies have it right and only Christians go to heaven, then the primary result of accepting Jesus is that, and the primary result of rejecting Jesus would be eternal death or eternal suffering (depending on which exact fundamentalist beliefs are true).
In conclusion Ron, you fail.
Evolution is a fact. It works by natural selection, and our understanding of that has grown deeper and more refined over the last 150 years. There are arguments over what split off where and when, but the underlying mechanism is sound.
Death is not the result of sin. To atone for the sins of one man by making a bloody sacrifice of another is not a great theological mystery. It is barbaric nonsense.
I actually had a flick through the bible yesterday evening (I admit, Genesis is a good read- it's set before God got totally angsty), and there are enough contradictions to make it untrustworthy without Satan or evolution.
Just to give one example of a contradiction, at least, God makes Adam to till the soil in Eden, then later on tells him that as punishment for eating the fruit, he has to...um...till the soil.
God also makes footsteps when He walks through the garden (Adam and Eve hide from him after they know shame), suggesting that He's not omnipresent. He also calls out to Adam later, suggesting that He doesn't know where Adam is, which in turn means he can't be omniscient.
Both of these (and more) turn up before page 2, in my edition.

I don't see what's so negative, here.
This is about the level of comprehension of science I would expect from someone that supports Ron Paul, and fully knows exactly who Paul associates with (Covenant News, The Chalcedon Foundation, Stormfront, etc. etc.). The ignorance and paranoia of paleoconservatives has kept us back at least 50 years from where we should be; it's only natural that the neoconservatives eventually evolved to see these clowns as natural allies in politics.
Basically this guy would denounce Christianity if someone managed to prove evolution to him, but I think this is just a cheap tactic to make him seem a critical person, open to new ideas. In reality, he has a personal agenda not to ever be convinced of evolution, and his mind cannot be changed ever. Yet another religious hypocrite.
Evolution has been proven. It has been observed, in real time. It has been accepted almost unanimously by every serious student of science. It is the only theory that makes sense of all we know about the world and its occupants. There are literally millions of pieces of evidence in museums around the world, and more are found every year. It is a beautiful synthesis of Darwin's detailed observations and the genetic information of modern times. Nobody who knows anything about the subject denies this. Not believing in evolution marks a person as either a religious nut or a moron, and the two are not mutually exclusive.
