King James version is the most accurate version and best bible you can get on the planet today, if you have done your research about Satanism, Illuminati, NIV bibles and other phoney translations that are made solely to attack Gods word ... you will know why KJV is the most accurate... Guys this is God speaking to me today here, he confirms things to us in such wonderous ways, that sometimes ... Theres just no words to describe his wisdom and knowledge.

So, let me get this straight...everyone who followed Christianity BEFORE the KJV was commissioned and printed were following DEFECTIVE scripture???
No wonder you tools think Catholics aren't Christians--according to you, their Bible ain't no good.
I would have thought the original Hebrew books were more accurate being in the original language and writings and not translated over 2000 years. Besides, if the KJV was the true word of god, why did it take until the late middle ages until it was finally written? Wouldn't a perfect god have made it right off the bat?
God is speaking to him today here? So what, he's a televangelist?
Personally, I'd just as soon pick a scholarly translation like the Lattimore New Testament, but those aren't usually available in cheap editions like the standard Bibles.
What these guys have with every other translation or even entire idioms??
Not all cristians speak english, you know... and the first cristians speaked hebrew, latin, greek, etc.
As a French speaker, my reference Bible, of the four different versions I own including the KJV and the Amplified Bible, is the French translation by scholar André Chouraqui. He went back to the original Hebrew and Greek, and translated in a refreshingly bracing language as close to the tone as the original, staying crude where the original is. For instance, where the KJV prudishly says Adam "knew" Eve, his version says Adam "penetrated" Eve. Under his quill, the Bible sounds alien to my modern ears, which is how it ought to be from documents written eons ago in a wholly different culture.
This preference stems from my career as a translator: we who actually expend the effort of transposing meaning from one language and culture to another know how hard it is to do so accurately. We then naturally gravitate, when a translation is unavoidable, to the closest in meaning to the original. In the case of the Bible, to the translations actually done as faithfully as humanly possible to the Hebrew, Greek and Aramean as they were understood at the time the documents were written, not according to dogmas and beliefs established centuries later.
And the KJV? Flawed like every other translation, including my preference. This is why I own four, so I can compare, contrast and evaluate.
