climate change = secular religion

Y'know, words actually have definitions.
You fail at knowing them.
Secular is the opposite of religious.
secular: 1. of or pertaining to worldly things or to things that are not regarded as religious, spiritual, or sacred.
Fucktard.
*shrug* Kinda sorta, yeah. I mean it is a contradiction of terms, sure. It is more like a religion that people don't KNOW is a religion. At least when you get to the "Oceans are boiling, sky is falling, man made apocolypse coming in the next 25 years!" type of thinking.
It is the choice religion of white middleclass hippies consumed with irrational ecoguilt. Also, publicly educated 20 something atheists who have had the idea that corporations are destroying our planet hammered into their heads for 15+ years.
Not too fundie at all actually. Just sort of stupid and an obvious foaming at the mouth rightwinger. Very possible this guy is a fundie for sure, but this quote does little to prove it.
secular religion = dry water
secular religion = heavy balloon
secular religion = informed raptard
religion = not religion
Fixed
weewilly
Nice of you to admit it.
The use of oxymorons is an accepted rhetorical device.
Nothing Fundamentalist here.
Having a different opinion from me does not qualify someone as a Fundie.
In this case, he doesn't even have a different opinion from me. The data adduced in Bjorn Lomborg's 'The Skeptical Environmentalist' demonstrates to my satisfaction that even accepting everything the IPCC forecasts, the world will be better off without Kyoto.
The detail he gives in 'Cool It' leads me to conclude the concern over Global Warming is a misplaced priority.
No, it's supported by repeatable measurements. Religion isn't. Anyway, the naysayers and the whiners in the coal and oil industry who encourage them have been left at the station - we're already on our way to dealing with CO2 emissions.
weewilly = tiny penis
He was asking for it!
some part of me refused to accept that just happened.
then I looked at the source.
it's so sad that one website can destroy all of my faith in humanity just by it's very mention.
@John_in_Oz: "The data adduced in Bjorn Lomborg's 'The Skeptical Environmentalist' demonstrates to my satisfaction that even accepting everything the IPCC forecasts, the world will be better off without Kyoto."
Because basing your opinion on the contents of a single book has such a precedent for clear judgement, obviously.
For anyone interested in the subject of climate change, I recommend the Nature Reports: Climate Change site. It is a Nature publication that collects together a number of articles, news, and research on the subject under a single title, the current issue is available free on-line, and at the start of each month an archive 'issue' of the last month's output is published as a PDF. The whole PDF archive is also available free on-line.
You DO know the origin of the term "moonbat," right?
I'm willing to bet a disproportionate number on your board make religions out of American patriotism and simultaneously Confederate pride, as well.
Moonbattery = a place where angry white straight Christian racist sexist homophobic rich guys lie through their teeth, utter nonsense, make death threats, and don't pretend to be civilized. A perfect place to point to and say "THAT is what is wrong with conservatives!"
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
