Yeah, it was so much better for women back when they were either treated as 2nd class citizens at best, or at worst treated like property with few rights of their own. But they never, ever got pregnant out of wedlock back then, no siree. That only started after the 1950's.
Uh, I'm 38 & never been pregnant. Not married either, although I suppose that's the problem. I'm only vulgar online, & am far from ignorant, unless we're referring to scientific diciplines. I confess I know nothing about combining DNA or string theory. My knowledge of ancient Chinese military history is pretty weak too. I don't wish to see the worst in things; but I'm a realist who will not deny reality because I don't like it, so I often do see the worst in things, but I tend to see the worst in people. Spending probably too much time online makes it worse.

You are many decades behind the times, if you use that phrase from the middle of the last century, "modern women". But then, it's always been easier to criticize an entire generation blindly than to do that hard "thinky" stuff that an honest assessment requires. This comes under the heading of "old woman yells at cloud". C'mon now, you can be a geezer without having your head completely fossilized. Either you are old, and lived in an era of which you approve because of your failing memory, or are younger, and only read about times gone by. Second-hand knowledge is always suspect.

Girls now are pregnant because Sex-Ed is mostly a joke in the US, Planned Parenthood is defunded, and both abortions and contraceptives are expensive and hard to find.
