In Turkey, this alleged Christian who hasn’t been in church since becoming president (they can’t seem to find a suitable church -- or mosque -- in Washington) informed his hosts that the United States is not what our founders said it was -- a Christian nation. He put icing on the cake by subserviently bowing deeply before the king of Saudi Arabia, who happens to be a Muslim.

You will see the same behavior reflected by a large percentage of christian (even the more religious ones) worldwide, i.e. to only rarely go to church but rather keep their own religious practice within thir own home (if I remember correctly even Jesus himself more appreciated people who prayed silently and alone than people who did so demonstrative in public ;) )
He hasn't had the time since he's been in Washington to figure out which local church he'd like to attend because he's had to devote his every waking moment to the worldwide financial disaster caused by his incompetent, imbecilic predecessor.
Also, didn't Jesus speak about going to your "closet" to pray in private? He certainly did not say you had to attend church to be his faithful follwer.

Our founders never said this was a Christian nation. They said the opposite. John Adams signed the Treaty of Tripoli. Thomas Jefferson coined the phrase "separation of church and state". James Madison effectively drafted the Bill of Rights. He wrote "The civil rights of none shall be abridged on account of religious belief or worship, nor shall any national religion be established, nor shall the full and equal rights of conscience be in any manner, or on any pretext, infringed." Ben Franklin wrote "When a religion is good, I conceive it will support itself; and when it does not support itself, and God does not care to support it, so that its professors are obliged to call for the help of the civil power, 'tis a sign, I apprehend, of its being a bad one."

He's been in office two months. Not only does he need to find the right church as far as their beliefs are concerned, his security comes into play as well. Besides that he has a LOT of things to take care of. I think I want someone dedicated enough as my president that he can skip church (it won't hurt him, believe me) for a couple months to take care of some big things.
As for bowing to the king, it's called respect. Besides that, if I want something from someone I don't barge in to their place, mess up their stuff, eat everything in their fridge and call them names before asking my favor.
Where did the Founders say any such thing? It's not in the Declaration, it's not in the Articles of Confederation, it's not in the Constitution...in the one document I can think of where the issue was even addressed (Treaty of Tripoli, bitch!) it is specifically stated that the US is not founded "in any sense" on the Christian religion. That document was ratified by Congress and signed by President John Adams.
Now, where did you say you found that statement by the Founders that the US is a Christian nation?

2. It's a bow of respect, not subservience. It's similar to bowing to the leader of Japan; a subservient bow would require him to drop to his knees and touch his head to the floor, according to Middle Eastern custom (I believe).

Yeah, and frankly, if I was in his shoes and I managed to get a few hours for myself, I'd spend them with my family and friends, not waste them in a church (and the Secret Service would probably love me for not making their ulcer worse)
