This just like the fucked up changes on YouTube/Google are all part of the battle between big corporations vs big brother. Both sides want global control which is why Edwards Snowden took a big risk to revel information about the NSA spying and how facebook/Google/Microsoft.etc all have back door deals to send user information without you’re consent.
Fanfiction.net is likely being harassed by the NSA to give in to *The System* or being taken over by communist agents as all these rules are very communist not at all reflecting the will of the people.
It seems harmless now doing a few things here and a few things there but down the road it can and will be used to blackmail you even though “I’ve got nothing to hide” which is the popular excuse to give up privacy. We’ll see how well that turns out.

If you ignore the part about communists, it isn't much of conspiracy. Corporations gather a lot of private information whenever they can. It was shown especially in Google or Facebook.
However, the corporations use the information for profit, not a plot to rule the world. there also the fact that the size of data resources is so vast, that even with clever algorithms they can't analyze everything.
I think healthy concern may be justified, but the big brother panic is overreaching.

Calling him a pussy because he is unwilling to be thrown into solitary for a couple of years before the trial even begins, face torture ( sorry enhanced interrogation ) and then a closed door secret trial followed by life without parole in a supermax prison is a cheap insult.
He has already been publicly declared guilty by a number of US lawmakers, including the president. His chances of a fair trial are ZERO.
Apparently REAL AMERICAN PATRIOTS follow orders blindly and never ask questions.

A fair trial would not go well for him. He broke the law and revealed classified information. He signed a nondisclosure agreement, and then disclosed information. There's not really any debate over his guilt.
wrong is a different question, but the legal system doesn't deal with that.

@Peter Fitz - Snowden didn't intend to get stuck in Russia. " Snowden got stuck in the transit zone of a Moscow airport because Havana said it would not let him fly from Russia to Cuba." He may have intended to go on to Venezuela or some other South American nation from Cuba.

They're never going to come forward and confirm or deny any report of action attributed to them, because they don't exist in the form you're familiar with. I'm sure this has nothing to do with the fact FFN is a business who was threatened with legal action for things like real person fics. Not to mention the fact that parents were complaining about their precious snowflake reading/writing smut. It made sense business wise to have rules that made them appear family friendly, while letting smut remain as long as it wasn't reported.
