When Adam and Eve sinned, it damaged their DNA just very slightly. Then they had children with damaged DNA.
The children sinned, thus damaging the DNA slightly more, and Adam's children had to marry their own siblings (it wasn't a law at that time) to continue the human race, thus introducing even greater DNA damage.
Over 6,000 years, there has been a LOT of damage to our DNA. (Why else would children be born into this world with such things as spinal biffida, or fluid on the brain, or even being still born?
